CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82-14 <br />BY: Janet Sarinqer <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CONSULTING FIRM OF HYDRO RESEARCH AND <br />DEVELOPMENT INC. FOR THE HYDRAULIC <br />ANALYSIS AND PREPARATION OF PLANS, <br />SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIh1ATES OF COST <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STORM WATER <br />RUNOFF INLET CONTROLS IN AN AREA BOUND <br />BY WALTER ROAD, GESSNER RQAD, COLUMBIA <br />ROAD AND MAPLE RIDGE ROAD, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has encountered numerous <br />problems regarding storm water and <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that the storm water collection <br />system is subject to excessive surcharging in the area bound by Walter Road, <br />Gessner Road, Columbia Road and h1aple Ridge Road, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to conduct a hydraulic study, <br />prepare plans, specifications, and estimates of cost which must be prepared <br />by an engineering firm experienced in the use of storm water inlet controls, and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council and Administration to hire <br />the services of Hydro Research & Development, Inc. to prepare said services <br />at a cost not to exceed Thirty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars ($35,800.00), <br />of which One Hundred Percent (100%) is to be reimbursed through Community <br />Development Block Grant Funds. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter <br />into an agreement with the firm of Hydro Research & Development for the <br />preparation of plans, specifications and estimates of cost, a copy of which <br />agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "A". <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety, and welfare, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote <br />of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be <br />in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />? <br />ATTEST: <br />? <br />Florence E.
