CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 82 - 49 <br />BY: MR. MCKAY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THF ORGANIZATION AND <br />COMPOSITION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT: SALARIES <br />AND VARIOUS BENEFITS FOR THE MEA4BF.RS OF THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT: VARIOUS RULES, REGULATIONS AND EMPLOY.F.E <br />RIGHTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORD.AINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: The Organization Chart for the police Department of the <br />City of North Olmsted shall be as follows: <br />A. The Organizational Chart for the Police Department and the <br />personnel set forth in the Organizational Chart shall consist of the Chief <br />of Police who shall be in charge of the entire Police Denartment. <br />B. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of all Non-Uniform <br />Personnel in accordance with Ordinance establishing same, by the Council <br />of the City of North Olmsted. <br />C. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of_ the General Duty <br />Uniform Roster, which shall consist of: Two (2) Captains, Three (3) <br />Lieutenants, Four (4) Sergeants, between twenty-eight (28) and thirty-four <br />(34) Patrolmen. <br />D. The Chief of Police shall also be in charge of a Detective <br />Bureau consisting of six (6) of the Police Personnel mentioned in Section <br />1-C above. One (1) member of the Detective Bureau shall serve as the <br />Juvenile Off_icer of the North Olmsted Police Denartment. <br />E. The Police Department as constituted herein shall be classified <br />by the Director of Public Safety, as required bv law. <br />SECTION 2: That Council does hereby establish salaries for the <br />various members of_ the Police Department covering the year of 1982 and the <br />same shall be as follows: <br />A. Effective January 1, 1982, the various salaries shall be fixed <br />as follows: <br />Chief of Police ------------------ --- $32,937.00 Annually <br />Captains ------------------------- --- $29,147.00 Annually <br />Lieutenants ---------------------- --- $26,498.00 Annually <br />Sergeants ---------------------- $24,090.00 Annually <br />Patrolmen - First Year ----------- --- $16,062.00 Annually <br />Patrolmen - Second Year ---------- --- $20,034.00 Annually <br />Patrolmen - After Second Year ---- --- $21,899.00 Annually <br />B. Any sworn full-time employee shall, while on duty as Plain- <br />clothes Detectives, be paid additional comnensation at the rate of $400,00 <br />annually for all time s?nent as Plainclothes Detectives or as Juvenile <br />Officers. <br />C. That all full-time sworn employees of the Police Department <br />having completed five (5) years of full-time continuous service, as <br />emnloyees of said Department, shall be paid an additional four ?ercent (4o) <br />of their base annual salary; thereafter until comnletion of the tenth (lOth) <br />year o£ full-time continuous service, after which such employee shall re- <br />ceive five percent (50) of their base annual salary; thereafter until the <br />completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full-time continuous service, <br />such employee shall get six nercent (6o) of their base annual salary until <br />after the com-oletion of the twentieth (20th) year of full-time continuous <br />service, and during each year of full-time service thereafter they shall <br />receive seven nercent (70) of their base annual salary as longevity increments.
