MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 20, 2019 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, <br />Kearney, Limpert & Schumann <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of <br />Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Council Member Williamson <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of August 6, 2019 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading: Resolution 2019-70; First Reading: Resolution 2019-79 <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• It's Homecoming Week. This year the big tent will feature police, fire and the <br />senior center. The K9 Match will be there, along with SWAT officers and <br />information on the next entry level police exam. Firefighters will be providing <br />blood pressure level checks and there will be information regarding community <br />resources and senior services. <br />• The Ohio Flags of Honor will be at Homecoming this year. It is a traveling <br />memorial honoring the men and women in Ohio who have given their lives in <br />service of their country. Specifically, those fallen in the wars of Afghanistan and <br />Iraq and the War on Terrorism since 9/11. The opening ceremony is Friday, <br />August 23 at 4:30 p.m. and the closing ceremony is on Sunday, August 25 at <br />11:30 a.m. <br />• Saturday, August 24 at 9:30 a.m. is the Second Annual Fat Heads Brewery 5k. <br />Last year the race raised $21,000 in scholarships for North Olmsted Seniors. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• No Report. <br />Director of Finance Copfer: <br />• No Report. <br />
