MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />AUGUST 6, 2019 <br />Present: Council Members Brossard, Glassburn, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert. <br />Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Human <br />Resources Gallo, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Safety & Service <br />Glauner, Director of Planning & Development Lieber and Clerk of <br />Council Massarolo <br />Absent: Council President Jones <br />Council President Pro -Tem Limpert called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of June 18, 2019 were approved as written. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: None. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Due to the exceptional efforts of the Fire Department, the City of North Olmsted <br />has been awarded an ISO rating of three, which is exceptional for the City and its <br />residents, corporations and businesses insurance ratings. Previously the City was a <br />high four. <br />• The Mayor swore in Tyler Counts, John Suchy Jr., and Nick Jacobucci as <br />Firefighters. He also swore in Kevin Zywiec as Lieutenant and Matthew Peters as <br />Captain for the Fire Department. Lieutenant Zywiec and Captain Peters both <br />thanked everyone for their support. Copies of the oaths are attached to the <br />minutes. <br />• The Mayor thanked all of the families for coming out to support the firefighters. <br />Chief Schepp thanked Council, the Administration and especially Human <br />Resources Director Gallo and Director of Safety & Service Glauner. The Chief <br />said the Fire Department uses the hiring process to ensure the candidates are a <br />good fit for the City, not the probationary period. He said the probationary period <br />is to get them to understand the North Olmsted way. Chief Schepp said Captain <br />Peters has some big shoes to fill and Lieutenant Zywiec is a young individual that <br />will continue to come up. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />
