CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2022 - 12 <br />BY: Council President Brossard and all of Council <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 105 OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ENTITLED "WARDS <br />AND BOUNDARIES" TO ESTABLISH, ADOPT AND CODIFY <br />THE REDISTRICTING OF THE FOUR (4) WARDS OF THE <br />CITY OFNORTH OLMSTED, INRESPONSE TO POPULATION <br />FIGURES OF THE 2020 FEDERAL CENSUS, AS <br />PROCLAIMED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE, AND AS <br />REQUIRED BY ARTICLE IX (NOMINATIONS AND <br />ELECTIONS), SECTION 5 (GENERAL PROVISIONS) OF THE <br />CHARTER OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Article IX, Section 5, of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, <br />upon the recurring Federal Census every ten (10) years, as such population data is verified by <br />Proclamation of the Secretary of State, Council shall redistrict the City into four (4) Wards, "so as to <br />have each Ward as nearly equal in population as practicable and which shall be bounded by county <br />lines, streets, alleys, avenues, public grounds, canals, water course, municipal corporate lines, or <br />center lines of platted streets" and to take such action within three months after issuance of said <br />Proclamation; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has retained and consulted with Triad Research Group to consider <br />several redistricting maps, and deliberated on the population variances and boundary changes <br />contained in each, concurring on the redistricting map attached as Exhibit A; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a series of public meetings, approved the Map attached <br />hereto as Exhibit A to serve as the Ward Map for the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council hereby adopts this Ordinance in response to and based upon <br />population data contained in the 2020 Federal Census and, further, to amend and update Chapter 105 <br />of the Codified Ordinances <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO, THAT- <br />SECTION]. <br />HAT: <br />SECTION1. That Section 105.0 1, which presently reads as follows: <br />105.01 CITY DIVIDED INTO FOUR WARDS; MAP. <br />Council hereby sets forth and restates the ward boundaries for the City of North Olmsted, as <br />
