MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED NOVEMBER 15, 2022 Present. Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Hemann, Kelly, Limpert, Scarl and Williamson. Also Present. Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor, Clerk of Council and guests. Absent. None Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8,00 p.m. via GoToMeeting. Council President advised the audience on the virtual meeting to let the Clerk know, via the chat feature, if they would like to speak during the open comment section, and advised that those on the phone would be given an opportunity to speak at that time as well. ANNOUNCEMENTS The Council Meeting Minutes of November 1, 2022 were approved as written. The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Ordinance 2022-105, and on first reading Resolution 2022-112 and Resolution 2022-113. REPORTS Mayor Jones. • The Mayor advised Council that the long-time City Hall Receptionist, Marianne Simmons, retired effective October 3, 2022, after 23 years of loyal and devoted service. The Mayor proclaimed Monday, November 7th, as "Marianne Simmons Day' in the City of North Olmsted and presented her with a proclamation. • Mayor Jones advised that the City will be implementing a new auto attendant telephone system within the next two weeks. • The City of North Olmsted will celebrate "Small Business Saturday" on Saturday. November 26, 2022. The Mayor encouraged everyone to shop in North Olmsted every day. but especially on November 26th. Our Director of Economic and Community Development and the Mayor have been visiting local small businesses creating video spotlight segments with them, which will be posted on all our social media platforms as well as our City website. • Interviews for new Firefighter positions are being held this week. • Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness recognized November 13-19, 2022 as "Winter Safety Awareness Week." • The North Olmsted Recreation & Public Engagement Department is gearing up for 'Holiday Hangout,' which will take place from 5-8 p.m. December 2, 2022 at the North Olmsted Community Cabin, 28114 Lorain Road. The free event will include a variety of activity stations for families and children to enjoy, including a letter writing station to Santa, candy cane fishing, a hot cocoa station, a holiday ornament making station, a
