MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED DECEMBER 19, 2023 Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Limpert, Madden, Scarl and Williamson. Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, Special Assistant to the Mayor and guests. Absent: Council Member Hemann Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited tojoin Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. ANNOUNCEMENTS Council President took a moment to thank Councilwoman Williamson for her years of service on Council and for her service to the residents of North Olmsted. The Council Meeting Minutes of December 5, 2023 were approved as written. Council President Brossard reminded all in attendance that the first Council meeting of the new year will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, due to the City holiday. The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Resolution 2023-142, Ordinance 2023-143, Ordinance 2023-144, Resolution 2023-146, and on first reading Ordinance 2023-147 and Resolution 2023-150. REPORTS Mayor Jones: • Mayor advised Council that Resolution 2023-152 is a resolution supporting the Administration's request for appropriations from the State of Ohio, by and through the State's Capital Budget for the first phase of the Old Town Hall Revitalization Project. She noted that she had met with Sherrod Brown's State Director John Ryan and was informed that the City of North Olmsted had been selected by the Senator for $271,000 in federal funding toward the restoration of the historic Old Town Hall. Mayor Jones stated her administration continues to identify all funding opportunities to revitalize Old Town Hall. The project will restore Old Town Hall through a variety of repairs including new roofing and windows which are compliant with U.S. Department of the Interior Historic Preservation Standards, tuck pointing, repairs to make the building fully ADA compliant, and basement and foundation waterproofing. The building is on the National Historic Register. • The last phase of leaf pick-up was Thursday, December 14, 2023.
