MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />DECEMBER 19, 2023 <br />Present: Council President Brossard, Council Members Gilchrist, Glassburn, Limpert, Madden, <br />Scarl and Williamson. <br />Also Present: Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones and Director of Law Gareau and Director of Finance Copfer, <br />H. R. Director, Economic Director, Safety Director, Service Director, Recreation Director, <br />Special Assistant to the Mayor and guests. <br />Absent: Council Member Hemann <br />Council President Brossard called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover <br />Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited tojoin Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />Council President took a moment to thank Councilwoman Williamson for her years of service on Council <br />and for her service to the residents of North Olmsted. <br />The Council Meeting Minutes of December 5, 2023 were approved as written. <br />Council President Brossard reminded all in attendance that the first Council meeting of the new year will <br />be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, due to the City holiday. <br />The following legislation was considered for suspension of the rules. On second reading Resolution <br />2023-142, Ordinance 2023-143, Ordinance 2023-144, Resolution 2023-146, and on first reading <br />Ordinance 2023-147 and Resolution 2023-150. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Jones: <br />• Mayor advised Council that Resolution 2023-152 is a resolution supporting the Administration's <br />request for appropriations from the State of Ohio, by and through the State's Capital Budget for <br />the first phase of the Old Town Hall Revitalization Project. She noted that she had met with <br />Sherrod Brown's State Director John Ryan and was informed that the City of North Olmsted had <br />been selected by the Senator for $271,000 in federal funding toward the restoration of the <br />historic Old Town Hall. Mayor Jones stated her administration continues to identify all funding <br />opportunities to revitalize Old Town Hall. The project will restore Old Town Hall through a <br />variety of repairs including new roofing and windows which are compliant with U.S. Department <br />of the Interior Historic Preservation Standards, tuck pointing, repairs to make the building fully <br />ADA compliant, and basement and foundation waterproofing. The building is on the National <br />Historic Register. <br />• The last phase of leaf pick-up was Thursday, December 14, 2023. <br />
