<br />MINUTES <br />OF A MEETING OF <br /> LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />AUDITORIUM <br />June 20, 2023 <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the Lakewood City Council called to order at 7:31 PM by President Litten <br />**** <br />Present: Thomas R. Bullock III, Kyle Baker, John Litten, Sarah Kepple, Cindy Marx, Tristan <br />Rader, Jason Shachner <br /> <br />Also Present: Mayor George, Finance Director Rancatore, Police Chief Kaucheck, Public <br />Works Director Gordon, Law Director Ernie Vargo, Planning Director Leininger, Fire Chief <br />Dunphy, Deputy Clerk Hamideh <br />**** <br /> <br />Motion by President Litten, seconded by Councilmember Bullock to approve the minutes of <br />the June 5, 2023 General Meeting without the necessity of a reading. All in favor. Motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />****OLD BUSINESS*** <br /> <br />1. Report from Health & Human Services Committee meeting held May 22, 2023. (pg. 1) <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kepple, seconded by President Litten to receive and file the report. All <br />members voted in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />*** <br /> <br />2. Report from Housing, Planning & Development Committee meeting held June 12, 2023. <br />(to be provided) <br /> <br />The following report was delivered by Councilmember Bullock: <br /> <br />th <br />On June 12, 2023 the Housing, Planning & Development Committee met to consider substitute <br />ordinance 10-2023, which would establish regulations for automobile-related businesses within <br />the City of Lakewood. We had a fairly straightforward meeting, and we substituted an amended <br />version proposed by the Law Department and the administration. We discussed those changes and <br />agreed to them and recommended them to the full Council for adoption tonight. The new substitute <br />version is on our docket tonight. It was a good deliberation. We had a fair amount of public input. <br />That public input resulted in fairly significant changes to the ordinance compared to when it was <br />introduced. I also want to note that we took extra time and had an additional committee hearing <br />and at least one extra Council meeting, including tonight, to allow for additional time between the <br />three readings required by our legislative process.
