RESOLUTION N0. 84-20 (AS A?"1ENDED) <br />INTRODUCED BY: Nlayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE PUR- <br />CHASES MADE FOR THE INSTALLATION OF <br />ELECTRICITY AND LIGHTING AT WILEY <br />PARK, DECLARING THE SAME TO BE AN <br />EMERGENCY PURCHASE AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the municipality held its Village Days event on <br />August 3, 4, and 5, 1984; and <br />WHEREAS, this year's event was held outdoors in Wiley Park <br />and included a rib burn-off; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Building Commissioner determined that <br />it was necessary to install outdoor electricity and lighting in order <br />to operate the equipment in the food service booths and provide light <br />during the evening hours; and <br />WHEREAS, as the Village Days event approached, the electric- <br />ity and lighting arrangements had not been thoroughly completed, <br />thereby requiring some last minute planning and purchases; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to provide adequate lighting for Wiley <br />Park to make it safe for attendance during the evening hours it became <br />necessary to purchase materials and labor totalling Eight Thousand <br />Five Hundred Sixty Eight Dollars,:-and Eighty Eight Cents ($8,568.88) <br />from Tri Electric Supply, Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, <br />Albert Mierke and Desberg's United Electric-Pepco; and <br />WAEREAS, the aforesaid purchases, as itemized hereinafter, <br />all woulc7 have been permissable expenditures without the necessity of <br />competitive bidding except for the amount expended on the materials <br />from Tri Electric Supply; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the time required to complete the com- <br />petitive bidding process, it was impossible to advertise and formally <br />solicit bids for the materials and labor necessary to install the <br />outdoor eleetricity and lighting in time f or the Village Days event, <br />thereby requiring the aforementioned purchases on an emergency basis; <br />anc3 <br />WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of approving the afore- <br />mentioned purchases for the reasons set forth hereinabove; now, <br />theref ore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGEr OHIO, THP,T:
