M., ,T:7ayor <br />Gustave Swanson presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs Franz,Hazdm.a.n,Sloan,Za.ngleman & Heiss <br />Absent Mrss Cass.The Na.n.utes of the regular meeting held JuYy 19, 1948 were read <br />to the Council. It was moved by Mr. Sloan, seconded by Mr°e ga.rdman that <br />the ma.nutes bv approved as read. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes - Messrs Franz,Hard.man,Sloan.,Za.ngleman and Heiss <br />Nays - None. <br />Tdotion Carried. <br />Minut e s Appr o,ved m <br />IJlayor Svranson thext read a letter from the Ohio Be11 Telephone Co. <br />asking for perm3.ssion to furnish adda.tional telephone serva.ce along S.O.M. <br />Center Road, stating that permission had been granted by a1l'property ov+rners <br />coztcerned. I•t wa.s moved by Mr. Franz, seconded by Iffre Iiaxdman, that the <br />Ohio BeII be given permxssion to_proceed vrith the work, subject to property <br />o,,+mers consent. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes -Yiessrs Franz,Hftrdma,n,Sloan,Zxugleman and Hea.ss <br />Nays - None . <br />TJotion CarrS.edm <br />PermS.ssioxt Granted. <br />A 1etter zvas read from the Schloss Asphalt T'aving Co. stating <br />that County Project 400m1947 Contract 9535 had been completed. <br />IvTayor Suvanson then sta.ted that the Associated.:Land and Investment <br />Co, had asked him to try to get gas aeross Ridgebury Boulevard.and read a <br />letter from the East Ohio Gas Cos stating that.it would be impossible at <br />this time; but to call them again in a few mon.thsa <br />Mayor Swanson read a letter f'rom the Cxty of ClevelandD Division <br />of Treas, asking for- infbrmation on Elm Trees af'fected with Dutch Elm <br />disease in our villagem 14ayor Swanson will ask the Park Superintendent <br />about tha.s and not9.fy the CZty. <br />The ,American Red Cross wrote, ask9.ng the Village to appoint a <br />committee whose duty it woul.d be to alert the Red Cross in time of disaster. <br />Ma,yor Swanson then appoanted Nelson Porter, Hrnvard Harclman and Harold <br />Zingel.man to serve on this committeeo <br />It vras moved by Tvlr.
