Min~ates~ of Special Meeting <br />February I~, 195l~ <br />The Council of the Village of i~ayfield met in the Town Hall in <br />Special Meeting on February 4, 195l~, at 8 :00 P. M., pursuant to notice' <br />according to law, Mayor'Donald G® Hodgson presiding. <br />Ro11 Call _ Present Messrs Swanson, Taylor, Endress, Whiting, <br />Beard & Oatess.. <br />Absent None. <br />Mayor Hodgson made a brief statement in explanation of the purpose <br />of the meeting and the distribution of notices of the meeting to the <br />residents of the Municipality. He stated that due to the public discussion <br />which had been evoked by the proposed sewage pumping station to be erected <br />on Wilson Mills Road East of SOM Center Road located approximately opposite <br />the junction of Wilson Mills Road and Beach Hi11 Road, officials of the <br />County Sanitary Engineers Office-had been invited to explain the need <br />and purpose of such an improvement. Mayor Hodgson thereupon introduced <br />Mt°. Puzenski, County Sanitary Engineer, 1~®. Woodruff and Mr. Demore of the <br />Pease Engineering Company. <br />By leave of Mayor Hodgson, lU&°. Puzenski showed a rendering of the <br />proposed pumping station and explained that the tanks would all be placed <br />below the ground level and that electric pumps would be housed in the <br />building. He stated that there would be three pumps to pick up the <br />effluent from the box, which effluent would then be forced through a <br />cast iron pipe to Wilson Mills. Road., and through a force main to the <br />City of Cleveland's Easterly sewage di~plsal plant. He stated that <br />the retaining tanks were to be of concrete-which would insure against <br />leakage, and that this was the common type of station throughout the <br />county. He stated that it was to be treated as a residence. <br />Mayor Hodgson then asked for questions and discussion. <br />Q. Mr. Endress: How many such pumping stations are there to be in <br />this area? <br />A. Mr. Puzenski® There are .to be two such pumping stations to provide <br />for the ~tHilltop municipalit3,es.« The other is to <br />be East on Wilson Mi11s Road in the neighborhood of <br />Franklin Boulevard in Highland Heights. <br />Q. Audieneee How is ~:t to be vented? <br />A. Mr. Puzenski° There are to be no vents. Also, to provide for <br />` ~` rawer failure there are diesel motors which will <br />generate electricity in ease of power failure. <br />° 1. <br />
