Minutes of a, Special Meeting <br />June 7, 19 5~ <br />The Council met in Special Meeting, pursuant to due notice, on <br />Monday, June 7, 1951, at 7:30 P.M. at the Village Hall, Mayor Donald <br />Hodgson presiding. <br />Roll Calls Present - iVlessrs. Swanson, Endress, Taylor, <br />UVhiting, and Beard. <br />Absent - Mr. Oatess. <br />Mayor Hodgson introduced the matter of the purchase of the property <br />of -Carrie Leslie. Mayor Hodgson stated that the committee appointed at <br />the last Regular Meeting of Council had requested information of P/Ir. <br />Edelman, Solicitor of the Village of T~~ayfield, concerning various means <br />whereby the Village could acquire such property. 112ayor Hodgson read the <br />letter received from i4r. Edelman. Mayor Hodgson suggested the need for <br />an appraisal prior to any reconunendations by the commission, <br />Mr. Beard asked whether this particular property would be a useful <br />asset, <br />P.4ayor Hodgson suggested that it vrould probably be to the advantage of <br />-the Village of I~.~ayfield to acquire this property. <br />IuTayor Hodgson asked for a motion to have an appraisal of said property. <br />Mr. Swanson suggested first determining whether it would be purchased. <br />IVlayor Hodgson stated that it would always be possible to sell an ease- <br />ment to the Mayfield School District as formerly suggested and thus a7.leviate <br />a portion of the cost. . <br />Mr. hfhiting stated that it would certainly be advisable to have such an <br />appraisal before action is taken. <br />It was moved by Mr. Taylor, and seconded by :;4r. Beard that an appraisal <br />of the property of Carrie Leslie be made and that, the appraisal be made by <br />the South Euclid Savings and Loan Co® if possible® <br />Roll Calls Ayes - iVlessrs. Swanson, Endress, Taylor, ZJhiting & Beard <br />Plays - None <br />.Motion Carried <br />Mayor Hodgson introduced the problem of the surfacing of Seneca Road, <br />Bonnieview Road, Glenview Road, and ~~forton Park Boulevard, each of which is a <br />dedicated street vaithin the Village of Mayfield.
