<br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />July 12, 195l~ <br />The Council met in regular meeting. on July 12, 195l~., at 8x00 P. M. <br />at the Village°Hall, Mayor Donald Hodgson presiding. <br />Ro71 Calls Present - Pdessrs Swanson, Endress,Taylor9Wh~.ting, <br />Beard and. 0atess. <br />Absent - None. <br />The PJ~inutes of the Regular Meeting held June 21, 195l~, were read <br />to Council. It was moved by Mr. Swanson and seconded by Mr. Beard that <br />the Minutes be approved as read. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Swanson;Endress,Taylor,Whiting,Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays -~ None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes- Approved <br />The Minutes of the Special Meeting held• June 23, 195l~, were read to <br />Council. It was moved by l~dr. Swanson and seconded by B~. Beard that the <br />Minutes be approved as read.. <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs S~.xason,Endress,Taylor,V~hiting,Beard & 0atess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mayer Hodgson asked for the reports of the officers and the <br />committees. <br />Mr. Endress, Chairman of the Finance Committee, stated that the <br />Finance Committee had met and considered the tax levy which should be <br />presented to the electorate on the November,195l~,ballot. He stated that <br />this levy would be in force for the two years subsequent to 195l~, and <br />that a ~ mill levy had been passed for the tax duplicate years 1952 and <br />1953. He also stated that since the increased property evaluations, 3.25 <br />mills was the equivalent of ~ mills before this said increase and therefore <br />Cuyahoga County had reduced. the levy to 3.25 mills, which levy is novr i.n <br />effect, but gill expire at the end of 195l~, which is tax duplica•~e year 1953. <br />The Clerk explained the proposed budget for the year 19559 under <br />which budget a 3.25 mill levy would be required tc> meet the proposed <br />expenditures.. The proposed budget contained items. for the expenditure of <br />mon3.es for the increased expenditures. necessitated by higher maintenance <br />costs and for a program whereby the Village of Mayfield would aid the <br />residents of Seneca Road, G1ei~vi.ew Road, Bonnie~.ew Road, and Worton <br />Park Road, i.n the permanent improvement of these duly dedicated public <br />highwrays by paying 25~ of the costs of such permanent improveruents. <br />1. <br />
