It was moved by I''Ir. It was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded by Nlr® Strater, that the <br />Minutes .of the special meeting be. passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes -Messrs Swanson, Strater,Taylor,T~lhiting,Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />T'Iinutes Approved <br />At this point I'Iayor Fndress asked about the bids for the police car. <br />These were opened and read to the Council. _ <br />The ~'uclid Ford had submitted a, bid fora 1955 Ford _V8 Ranch Z1raoon <br />ir3,;th equipment for SGl, 8ir8.00, allowing 4500.00 for the .old car. <br />The H. ?~ H Chevrolet had submitted two bids : On.e for an 8 cylinder <br />~ door station tragon with equipment for X1813.95 allowing 4505.00 for the <br />old police car. Thq other bid for •~l',813.00 without -trade-in allowance. <br />The Heights r'Iotor Sales Cod submitted a bid fora 1955 Ford I'Iainline <br />Ranch Wagon, .(two door type) with equipment for X1,779.00 and another for a <br />1855 four door County Sedan for 51,869.00. A trade-in allowance of 4?1G50,00 <br />for the old police ,car eras allowed. The customary checks were rece~.ved <br />with all bids. <br />At this point I''Ir. I~.rvey of the Harvey Radio and T.V, Repair Shop <br />spoke to Cowzcil, saying that, with our transmitting system poUrered by a <br />6 volt source, it would necessitate converting our system to a 12 volt source <br />if the Chevrolet Police car was purchased and this would also necessitate a <br />new generator. New equipment would cost aroand ti~601®00 plus installation of <br />from :~30 to ;p35®00. With a possible trade-ii1 all.airance of 4p50.00 for our <br />present system this would seem unwise. He wa•s asked for his opinion of the <br />present worth of our present transmitter and stated that it had a long life <br />possibility and bras in excellent shape® 1. <br />
