1 <br />Minutes of Regular tieeting <br />February 21, 1955 <br />The Council of the Village of iti7ayfield met in regular meeting at <br />the Village Hall at 8:00 o'clock P. M~ I~iayor Endress presiding. <br />Ro11 Call: Present -Messrs Swanson, Strater, Taylor,Beard & Oatess. <br />Absent - Mr. fiJlu.-ting. <br />The Minutes of the regular meeting of January 17, 1955, were read to <br />Council. It was moved by Mr® Swanson, seconded by fir. Taylor, that the <br />Minutes of the regular meeting be approved as~read® <br />Roll Call: Ayes -Messrs Swanson, Strater,Taylor,Beard ~ Oatess® <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />I'iinutes Approved <br />1 <br />It was moved by Mr, Beard, seconded by Mr® Oatess, that the Village <br />pay X8,50 per month for the extension of 'phone service to the home of Mr. <br />John ti~Jeice on Miner Road. <br />Ro11 Call: Ayes -Messrs Swanson, Strater, Taylor, Beard & Oatess. <br />_ Nays -None. <br />Motion carried <br />' The C1ork then read two bids received from our local gas stations, <br />one from'Leppe]meier's Atlantic Service offering 'to furnish gas 'and oil to <br />the Village at a 2 cent per gallon discount in quantities of 350 gallons per <br />month or more, the other bid from the I~~a.yfield Village Texaco Service <br />offering us a discount of three and one half cents per gallon on gasoline, <br />five cents per quart 'on oil, 10;~ on accessories and 20~ on Tires. It was <br />moved by Mr® Swanson, seconded by ltiZr.° Oatess, that the Village accept the <br />offer from the Texaco station, <br />Roll Call': Ayes- P'lessrs S~~anson, Strater, Taylor, Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion Carried <br />1 <br />I"layo-r Endress then asked Chief Dixon to report on the cost of a <br />traffic light at Lander and ~1ilson 1'lills. Mr. Dixon stated that the total <br />cost of the traffic light would be vv650.00 for everything but a pole, and' <br />couldn't give us a fi,;ure on the pole® He said he thought it would be <br />about ~p100.00m Council discussed this matter and thought that the traffic <br />light should not be kept on at all times but only daring the' rush hour.•U. <br />Mr. Swanson thought that, inasmuch as three of the corners of the street <br />were in Highland Heights, our vi]lage should pay only one quarter. of the cost. <br />Mr. Oatess then introduced Ordinance No. !~96 entitled, ~~An Ordinance <br />to Install a Traffic Contrcl Light at the Corner of Lander Road and ~dilson <br />I`~ills Road jointly with the. Village of Highland Heights and to apportion <br />the costs, expense and upkeep on an equal basis UTith said Village of Highland <br />Heights, Ohio", wili.ch Ordinance was read to Council, <br />T 1. <br />
