Meeting' <br />July 18, 1955 ~, <br />The Council of the Village of P'1ayfield met in. open meetir~ at the <br />Town Hall at...8:00 P® M,' Mayor Endress presiding. <br />Roll Ca11: Present -` Messrs `Taylor, strater, ..Beard.;~~Whiting & Oatess. <br />Absent v Mr. Swanson <br />The Minutes of the regular meeting of June 20, 1955, were read to <br />Council. It was moved by_ Mr. Strater, seconded by Mr.. Oa.tess, that the <br />minutes of.the regu]ar meeting be approved as reads <br />r'jayor Endress reported that he had a call from Ms°. Feldner, the <br />representative for the Redifer Bus Co., saying that- their plans tri.th the <br />Mi]1er Realty Coe had not jelled, and asked to have the public hearing <br />scheduled for Monday night, July 25th, put off until August 22nd. Mr• <br />Edelman said that this tra.s a .matter for the Zoninj and Planning Cotra~ission. <br />Mr• Endress, in the absence of Mr. Swanson, called another-meeting for <br />August 22nd, 1955, at 8:00 P. M. and made.arrarigements,to have the notices <br />posted immediately® It.was suggested that,Mr. Proctor Noyes~be invited to. <br />Dome out ~to this public hearing with sow explanations on the Turnpike <br />situation. <br />.... <br />Mr. EdelxnaYi suggested to the Zoning and Planning Commission that they <br />Nava the Bus Company make application `in writing for a special permit, so <br />that a71 '~.he plans and promises could go into the minutes 'of the Zoning and <br />Planning Commission and be put in the minutes of our regulax CounciY Meeting. <br />It eras moved by Mr. Strater, seconded by Mr. Beard, that we hold 'a <br />public hearing on the Turnpike location directly after the -hearing bar the <br />Zoning and Planning Commission®,. <br />Ro11 Call:, =Ayes -Messrs Taylor,strater, ~axd,tiiliiting and Oatess.. <br />Nays _ None, <br />Motion carried <br />Nelson Porter asked permission toaddress Council and stated that for <br />the past two years the Fire ~kpartment had been trying to .get equipment for <br />the fire truck and since the -last Home ...Day had gotten together sufficient <br />funds to purchase a radio for the pumper. He stated that they could get a <br />Motorola Radio for ~355moo and because of the few calls they would make and <br />due to the fact that our police car did not use all the ca1.1.s allotted to <br />them, there would be no expense for 'Radio Service from University Heights. <br />He said that some of the Firemen had sufficient experience to maintain the <br />equipment and the on],y expense would ~be a frequency check twice a year for <br />about X10.00 ~ As Council had just entered int o a new .contract Z,rith University <br />Heights and these contracts -had been sent out for signatures, there was same <br />discussion in Council, as no mention had been made in the new contract of any <br />Fare 1]epartanent .service. ~'~r'. Oatess then introduced Ordinance No. 511 entitled: <br />
