Minutes of .the Speca.al Meeting <br />November`18, 955 <br />The Council of the Village. of Mayfield met in special meeting <br />at the Village Hall at $s00 P~ M. pursuant to notice given to all members <br />of Council according to law, Mayor Endress presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present -Messrs Beard, Strater, Oatess, Sd~anson & Taylor. <br />Absent - Mr. Whiting. - <br />The tlinutes of the regular meetiang of October 17, 1955, were read <br />to Council. Tt was moved by Mr. Beard, seconded by Mr. Strater, that the <br />minutes of the regular meeting be-approved and passed as read® <br />Roll Cal„7.a Ayes -Messrs Taylor~Beard,Strater,0atess, Swansnn. <br />Nays -None. <br />' Motion carried <br />Minutes approved <br />Mayor Endress then read a letter from Mr. Herbert ~Jhiting, addressed <br />to the Mayor and Council, of the Village of Mayfield,. resigning from Council <br />effective immediately. Mr. Whiting stated that he had moved his legal <br />residence outside the corporate limits of the Village. It was moved by <br />~~°. Swanson, seconded by Mr. Taylor, that this resignation be accepted. <br />Roll Calls Ayes -Messrs Taylor, Beard, Strater,0atess & Swanson. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion carried <br />Resignation accepted <br />` ~ Council then asked, to go on record as appreciating Mr.~4dhiting's <br />work with the Village and commending him for his effective ,work as a - <br />Councilman and Chairman of the Safety Committee. <br />Mayor Endress then recommended that Mrs. Marie Brown be appointed <br />to replace I~1r. Wlii.ting. The I`2ayor stated that hrs. Brown had rolled up <br />the highest number of votes in the previous election and he belieued it would <br />be the choice of the people that she be appointed. It was moved by Mr. Beard, <br />seconded by Mr. Taylor, that this recon¢nendation be approved. <br />Rol]. Edelman, a Notary Publa.c, then administered the Oath <br />of Office to Mrs. Brown, whereupon she took her seat at the Council table. <br />Mayor Endres then read a letter from Mrs. Betty Dahlgren, the <br />police clerk, asking that her resignation be accepted effective November <br />21st, 1955. It was moved by Mr. Strater, seconded by Mr. Oatess,,that this <br />resignation be accepted. <br />1. <br />
