Minutes of the Regular Meeting Held April 17, 1950 _ The Council of the Village of Mayfield met at the Touvn Hall in regular meting on the 17th d_ay of April, 1950, at 8:00 o~clock P. M., Mayor Gustav Svranson presiding. _ ~ ~ ~ . Roll Calls Present -Messrs Hardman,Schouring,Godfrey,Cass & Hall. Absent - Mr. Taylor. 1~4i.nutes of the regulax meeting held March 20, 1950, were read to the Council. It was moved by Mr. Godfrey, seconded by T,6rs. Cass, that the Minutes be approved as read. .. Roll Call: Ayes- Messrs Hardman, Scheuring,Godfrey,Cass & Ha11 Nays -None. _ . Motion Carried Minutes Approzned Mayor Swanson read a form of Application to the East Ohio Gas Company for a ser~.ce line in the Village Hall. It was mav~ed by Mr. Hardman, seconded by Mr. Godfrey, that the Clerk be. authorized to sign this application on behalf of the Villag®. Roll Call: Ayes- Messrs Hardman,Scheuring,Godfrey,Cass & Hall. Nays -Non®~ Motion Carried Mayor Swanson announced that on April 5, Howard Hardman, Jr. had submitted his resignation as Chief of Police to the Mayor in.the presence of two members of the Safety Coaanittes. The resignation was accepted by the Mayor at that time aid Jerome Dixon was appointed acting Chief of Police. Mayor Svranson then appointed Mr. Dixon as Chief of Police for a probationary period of sip: months. It vaas. moved by Mr. Hardman, seconded by r. Godfrey that the appointment be. confirmed. Edelman, a Notary Public, administered the Oath of Office to Chief Dixon® __ I~r. Edelmaxa suggested that ~Ir. Hardman ~ s resignation should b® accepted by Counoil as a matter of record. .It was .moved by Mr. Godfrey, seconded by Mrs. Cass, that his resignation be accepted and that the Clerk so notify him.
