Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Held April 17, 1950 _ <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met at the Touvn Hall <br />in regular meting on the 17th d_ay of April, 1950, at 8:00 o~clock P. M., <br />Mayor Gustav Svranson presiding. _ ~ ~ ~ . <br />Roll Calls Present -Messrs Hardman,Schouring,Godfrey,Cass & Hall. <br />Absent - Mr. Taylor. <br />1~4i.nutes of the regulax meeting held March 20, 1950, were read <br />to the Council. It was moved by Mr. Godfrey, seconded by T,6rs. Cass, that <br />the Minutes be approved as read. .. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- Messrs Hardman, Scheuring,Godfrey,Cass & Ha11 <br />Nays -None. _ . <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approzned <br />Mayor Swanson read a form of Application to the East Ohio Gas <br />Company for a ser~.ce line in the Village Hall. It was mav~ed by Mr. Hardman, <br />seconded by Mr. Godfrey, that the Clerk be. authorized to sign this application <br />on behalf of the Villag®. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- Messrs Hardman,Scheuring,Godfrey,Cass & Hall. <br />Nays -Non®~ <br />Motion Carried <br />Mayor Swanson announced that on April 5, Howard Hardman, Jr. had <br />submitted his resignation as Chief of Police to the Mayor in.the presence <br />of two members of the Safety Coaanittes. The resignation was accepted by the <br />Mayor at that time aid Jerome Dixon was appointed acting Chief of Police. <br />Mayor Svranson then appointed Mr. Dixon as Chief of Police for a probationary <br />period of sip: months. It vaas. moved by Mr. Hardman, seconded by r. Godfrey <br />that the appointment be. confirmed. <br />Ro11 Calls Ayes® Messrs Hardman,Sch®uring,Godfrey,Cass ~ Hall <br />Nays -Non®. . <br />Lotion Carried <br />Appointment Confirmed <br />Mr. mold M. Edelman, a Notary Public, administered the Oath of <br />Office to Chief Dixon® __ <br />I~r. Edelmaxa suggested that ~Ir. Hardman ~ s resignation should b® <br />accepted by Counoil as a matter of record. .It was .moved by Mr. Godfrey, <br />seconded by Mrs. Cass, that his resignation be accepted and that the Clerk <br />so notify him. <br />
