1 <br />..Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />February 16, 1953 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met at the Toecn Hall in <br />regular meeting on the 16th day of February, 1953, at 8:00 P® ~I., Mayor <br />Gustav Swanson presiding. <br />Roll Calls Present Messrs tiValtz, Endres, Cass and Oates~s. <br />Absent Messrs Sloan. and Scheuring. <br />The Minutes of the regular meeting of January 19, 1953, were read by <br />the Clerk. It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by_Mr. Endres, that the minutes <br />be approved.as.read. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes _ Waltz, Endress,-.Cass. & Oateso <br />Nays- ® None. . <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mayor Swanson advised that I~r. Harry Patterson would be unable to <br />accept the appointment. of Special., Policeman. <br />Mayor Swanson reported. it was again ..time. to appoint a member to the <br />Architectural Board for-a period of three years. -~4rs. Cass was asked to <br />accept this appointment.-. <br />It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded.by Mr. Oates , that the appointment <br />of Mrs. Cass to the-Architectural Board for,.three years be approved by Council. <br />Ro71 Call: Ayes - Waltz, Endres, Cass and Oatess. <br />Nays _ None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Appointment Approved <br />Mayor Swanson read.a letter from the Department of Highways stating <br />that they plan to resurface S.O.M. Center Road from Wilson Mi11s Road north to <br />White Road which is the north. corporation line. of the Village. The total <br />cost of resurfacing will amount to X18,600.00 acid the Village portion of <br />this cost will be ~?~,650.00 unless it. can be shown that one-sixth of the <br />Gas Tax Receipts were expended on the maintenance of state highways in the <br />Village. A discussion revealed that the Village has spent such an amount <br />for that purpose. <br />Mr. Scheu.ring entered the meeting. <br />I~4r. Scheuring introduced Ordinance No. X30 entitled: «l~n E~ rgency <br />Ordinance Enacted by the Village of Mayfield Cuyahoga County Ohio, in the <br />Matter of the Hereinafter Described Improvement, Under the Super~.sion of the <br />Diz~ector of Highways, which ordinance.. was. read to Council,-. <br />It wa,s moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded-by Mr. Endres, that the rules <br />of law requiring an Ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />1. <br />
