Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />May 18, 1953 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular meeting on <br />the 18th day of May, 1953,.at 8:00 P. M., at the Mayfield Vi]~.age Hall, <br />Mayor Gustav Swanson presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs Waltz, Sloan, Endres, Scheuring, <br />Cass & Oatess. <br />Absent -None. <br />The I~Zinutes of the regular meeting of April 20, 1953, were read by <br />the Clerk. It was moved by Dr. 1Valtz, seconded by Drlr. Scheuring, that the <br />minutes be approved as read. <br />Ro11 CaL7.:"Ayos - Waltz, Sloan, Endress,Scheuring,Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mayor Swanson read the. minutes of the Safety Committee Meeting <br />held May 16, 1953. <br />It was called to the Committee's attention that the entrance of <br />the Village Ha11 enters the path of the.. Fire Department, and in the case of <br />afire ca]1, the truck could possibly be involved in an accident with an <br />automobile entering the drive. The Committee, therefore recommended that <br />the entrance and exit.signs of the. two driveways be reversdm <br />It was moved by ~. Sloan, seconded by Mrs. Cass, that the signs <br />be changed as recommended.. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endres, Scheuring,Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays - NOne.. <br />Motion Carried <br />Fire Chief Porter requested at the April meeting of Council that ~,he <br />be given some assistance with the telephones when he is' not at home or out of <br />the Village. The Safety Committee recommended to Council that an assistant <br />fireman be permitted to be stationed at-the Fire House when Chief Porter is <br />not available to receive calls. This man shall be paid X1.25 per hour, not <br />to exceed 40 hours per month, or a total_cost.of X600.00 per year. <br />~. Endres introduced Ordinance No.. !~3l~, entitled: "An Ordinance <br />to Amend Section 3of Ordinance No. 231 as Amended by Ordinances Nos. 292, 302 <br />and la.l2 by Providing for Employment of a Fireman to Work Inside the Fire <br />Stations', which Ordinance was read to Council® <br />
