' Minutes of the Regular Meeting . July 20, 1953 The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular .meeting on July 20th' 1953, at 8:00 P. M., Mayor Gustav Swanson presiding. Roll Call: Present - Messrs Endress, Scheuring, Cass & Oatess. Absent -Messrs V~laltz and Sloan. Dr. Pr"~cKay was present for the opening of the bids on the $106, 000.00 bonds. There were only two bids ree~ived, and these were opened by the Clerk at 8:00 P. M. Pohl & Compar~p bid 5~ with a premium of ~74.l~9, and McDonald & ComparXy bid ~-1/2~ with a premium of X111.00. These bids were based on the total bond figure of X1069000.00; however after receiving the cash payments on the assessments for Vdilson Mills Road and SOM Center Road, Section 1, the total amount will be ~9l~,171.18. Since there was not a sufficient number of Counci]men to suspend the rules, it was not possible to vote upon the bids. Dr. McKay reported on interest rates at the present time' and felt that we could reject the bids, and re-advertise, but from the indicated market would advise accepting the !~-1/2~ bid. The minutes of the regular meeting of June 15th, 1953 were read by the Clerk. It was moved by Mr. Scheuring9 seconded by Mr. Endress9 that the minutes be approved as read, Roll Ca11: Ayes = Endress, Scheuring9 Cass & Oa,tess. Nays - None. Minutes Approved. The minutes of the Special Meeting of June 22nd, 1953, were also read by the Clerk. It was moved by 1VIr. Endress, seconded by Mrs. Cass, that the minutes be approved as read. RoI1 Call: Ayes - Endress' Scheuring, Cass & Oatess. Nays - None. Minutes Approved The proposed budget for theryear 195t~ was read by the Clerk. It was moved by l~. Endress, seconded by Mrs. Cass, that the budget be approved and accepted as read. ~~Roll Call: Ayes -- Endress, Scheuring, Cass & Oatess. Nays - None. Motion Passed Budget Approved 1.
