1 Special.-.Meeting of Council September 1l-I.9 1953 The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in special meeting purauant to notice to all members on the ]1~th day of September, 1953, at 8:00 P. M. at the Village Ha].]., Mayor Gustav Swanson presiding. Roll Call: Present - Messrs Waltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass & Oatess. Absent - Mr. Scheuring. " The Clerk reported to Council on the bids received on September 9th, 1953, for the purchase of water main special assessment bonds in amount of ~9l~,171.18. The following bids were received: Field, Richard & Co. ~~ ~5l~8.00 premium Hayden, Miller & Co. ~~ 292.00 't Pohl & Co. 5% 103.50 to " Fox, Reusch ~ Co. ~ ~~ 838.82 ~~ (withdrawn) Mrs. Cass introduced Resolution No. 229 entitled: ~tR Resolution Accepting the Highest Bid for ~9l~,171.18 of Special Assessment Bonds Upon the Lowest Rate of Interest Bid by a Responsible Bidder', which Resolution was read to Councils It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mr. Endress, that the rules of law requiring a Resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan, Endress", Cass & Oatess. Nays - None, Motion Carr3.ed Rules Suspended It was moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mrs, Cass, that Resolution No. 229 be passed as read." . Roll Ca]1: Ayes - T1'daltz, Sloan, F~dress, Cass & Oatess. Nays - None. I+~tion Carried Resolution Passed The Clerk was instructed to return the checks to the unsuccessful bidders, notifying them the. name of the successful bid received. Mr. F~elman explained to Council that Ordinance No. lala.5, voted upon at the regular meeting of Council in August, did not actually pass, as there was not a 3/!~ vote of Council in favor of the Ordinance to proceed with the S.O.M. #3 water main. This is not the case if there is a petition filed. 1.
