~u~s~cl ~(~~.c <br />ORDINANCE NO. 81- 17 <br />INTRODUCED BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF <br />AN ENGINEER FOR HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Stephen Hovancsek is hereby employed and <br />appointed as Engineer for Mayfield Village until December 31, 1981, <br />or until his successor is appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by <br />not less than four members of Council, such employment to be terminable <br />by either the Village or said Engineer upon 90 days written notice <br />to the other. However, all work, if same is being processed in a <br />manner satisfactory to the Village, shall be completed by the Engineer <br />and the services therefor paid by the Village, in accordance with the <br />terms hereof. <br />Section 2. Said Stephen Hovancsek shall be compensated as <br />follows, and the Mayor and the Clerk are hereby authorized to enter <br />into an Agreement in writing with said Stephen Hovancsek whereby he <br />will be paid on the following basis: <br />(a) If the proceedings for any improvement are completed <br />according to the usual schedule, as provided by law, so that the bids <br />are received and a contract is awarded, he shall be paid a sum equal <br />to seventy-five percent (750) of the amount listed in Section 2(b); <br />as the work progresses, he shall receive additional compensation <br />equal to the balance of the fee listed in Sec. 2(b); said sum to be <br />paid at the time the contractor's estimates, upon which his payment <br />is based, are presented for payment. Before the final estimate for <br />the work is issued, any adjustment shall then be made so that the <br />total fee paid him shall be equal to the percentages listed in Sec. 2(b) <br />(.b) That for such services in connection with construction <br />of public improvements, he shall receive compensation on a percentage <br />for the actual cost of construction of all improvements made by <br />Council or under their control. The percentage paid shall be in <br />accordance with the following schedule, based upon the Minimum Fees <br />for General Engineering Services recommended by the Ohio Society <br />of Professional Engineers in their publication "Code of Professional <br />Practice" as revised in 1967. <br />General Engineering Projects - Schedule I <br />Airports and Facilities <br />Bridges and Grade Separation Structures <br />Foundations <br />Dams and Hydraulic Structures <br />Highway and City Streets <br />Incinerators <br />Intercepting, Relief, Storm or Sanitary Sewers <br />Outside Electrical Installations <br />Power Plants <br />Pumping Stations <br />Railway and Bus Terminals <br />Electrical Transmission and Distribution Facilities <br />
