MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />FEBRUARY 29,1962 - 8:09 ~.M. <br />Present were Paul J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruce MacDonald, President of Council; Henry <br />Caster, Ralph Christman, James Leonard, Dewey Limpert, A.L. Mangani, Lillian <br />Nicholas, Francis J. O'Neill. <br />Also present were Lloyd E. Barnes, Service Director; George Schaaf, Law Director; <br />James T. Wilson, Safety Director; Alex Kanareff, Engineer; William L. Gerlach, <br />Finance Director; and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 6, 1862 were approved as corrected. <br />The Mayor advised that he had received the following correspondence: <br />From the Council of the City of Cleveland; advising of a <br />meeting of the Council Committee on Cleveland Metropolitan <br />Relations on Wednesday, February 21, 1962 at Cleveland <br />City Hall. Mr. Albert S. Porter, County Engineer will speak. <br />From the Office of Civil Defense with reference to the <br />National Shelter Program. <br />From American Public Works Association with reference to <br />Snow Removal. <br />The communication from the American Public Works Association was turned over <br />to the Safety, Health & Welfare Committee. <br />The Mayor welcomed the Jaycee Wives who were in attendance. <br />The Safety Director advised that there will be a meeting in the near future for <br />all who wish to attend when trophies will be presented to the ~olceme~{~• for <br />expert shooting. <br />The Service Director's request that rates for the North Olmsted Community Cabin be <br />reviewed and revised was turned over to the Public Parks, Property and Recreation <br />Committee. <br />The Service Director's request fbr:~aut:hozify~tb;:ad~ertise for bids fora Back <br />Hoe, with front-end loader, was turned over to the Finance Committee. <br />The Engineer referred the following to the City Planning Committee for study: <br />Plat for Lyndhave~Subdivision which has been approved <br />by the Planning CommihsTdn~. <br />Dedication Plat for Country Club Blvd. <br />The Clerk read the following communications: <br />Letter from the Engineer regarding the Decker Road <br />Storm sewer petition which is now insufficient as <br />two of the property owners requested that their <br />names be removed from the original petition. <br />Letter from the Bus Driver's Committee expressing <br />their appreciation of Council's cooperation on <br />their request for a wage increase. <br /> <br />A bill from the Regional Planning Commission for <br />North Olmsted's membership in the Commission for 1962 <br />in the amount of $910.00. - <br />The bill from the Regional Planning Commission was turned over to the Finance <br />Committee. <br />Mr. M. Scanlon, attorney, appeared before Council representing Mr. & Mrs. L. <br />Zoldessy, 26751 Lorain Rd. concerning the proposed road next to their property <br />to connect Lorain St. with Great Northern Bled. He was advised that this matter <br />should be taken up with the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. O'Neill moved, seconded by Mr. Leonard, that on the recommendation of the <br />Committee on Appointments, Council approve the following appointments as submittd <br />by the Mayor: <br />
