-1 <br />w <br />MINUTES OF T'HE MEET'ING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTHi OLMSTED, OHIO <br />MARCH 5, 1963 - 8a08 P.M. <br />Present were Bruce MacDonald, President of Council Henry Caster, Ralph Christman„ <br />James Leonard, Dewey Limpert, A. L. Mangani, Francis J. 0'Neiil, Norman Van Zandt, <br />Also present weee L. Barnes, Service Direct.or; James T. Witson, Safety Director; <br />George Schaaf, Law Director, Wiltiam Gerlac:h, Finance Director; A. Kanareff, Engineer; <br />and Louise Hall, Clerka <br />Absent: Paul J. Gareau, Mayor> <br />The minutes of the meeting of February 19, 1963 were approved as written. <br />The Safety Director advised that a single phase light is being installed at <br />Porter and Butternut. <br />The Safety Director requested authority to renew contracts for Mutuai Aicl for <br />fire with Fairview and for fire and police with Westlake. <br />The Clerk read a letter from Ohio Bell Tele:phone Company advising that the date <br />for the Telephone Company Open House has be:en changed to March 14, 1963. <br />The Service Director advised that in his oFiinion the gas powered pumps suggested by <br />Council for use at the Lift Station are not: adequate and that there still is a need <br />for stand-by equipment> <br />Mr. 0'Neill, Chairman of the Transportatiori Committee, reported on their meeting of <br />February 23, 1963 and advised that steps ar•e being taken in an attempt to rectify <br />the financial problems of the Bus Line. <br />Mr. Van tandt, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, adyised<rthat'the Cortimittee <br />tiecommends several changes be made in the permit and inspection fees as outlined <br />in Ordinances No. 63-10, 11 and 12. <br />Mr. Caster, Chairman of the Industrial Deve:lopment Committee, reported on the <br />meeting with the Chamber of Commerce regarcling Industrial Development and advised <br />that a further report would be forthcoming after a meeting with the Mayor. <br />Mr. Christman, Chairman of the Public Development and Service Committee, reported on <br />a meeting with officials of Westlake regarciing drainage problems that affect North <br />Olmsted, Westlake and Bay Viltage. There will be another meeting on March 13, 1963 <br />for further discussion on this matter so that officials of Bay Village can give <br />their views on the forming of a Drainage ALathority to handle drainage problems <br />for the three communities. <br />Mra Christman reported on the Public Development and Service Committee meeting of <br />February 26, 1963 in regards to new sidewa'lks and requested authority to meet <br />with representatives of the School Board to discuss their recommendations for <br />installation of sidewalkso <br />Mr. Christman advised that the Committee recommends holding up the dedication of <br />Forest Ridge and West Park Estates until more favorableweather conditions permit <br />a complete investigation of the area. <br />Mr. Christman advised that the easements for Great Northern Blvd. are being reviewed <br />by the Law Director and when a favorable report is received from h'im, the Committee <br />will recommend acceptance. <br />
