i MI NUTES OF THE MEETI NG OF THE COUNCI L <br />TME CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIQ <br />APRf L 16, 1963 - 8:20 P.M. <br />Present were Raul J. Gareau, Mayor; Bruc:e MacDonald, Prestdent of Gouncil; <br />Henry Caster, Ralph Christman, James Leanard, Dewey Limpert, A.L. Mangani, <br />Francis J. 0'Neill, Norman Van Zandto <br />Also present were L. Barnes, Service Director; George Schaaf, Law Director; <br />William Gerlach, Finance Director, James T. Wilson, Safety Director, A)ex <br />Kanareff, Engineer and Louise Hall, Clerk. <br />The minutes of the meeting of Apr•il 2, 1963 were apprpved as corrected. <br />The Mayor proclaimed the month of Apr-il as INDUSTRIAL SAFETY PROMOTION MONTH <br />and the month of May as SENIOR CITIZENS MONTH. <br />The Mayor read a report from the Enginee.r poncerning the activities of the <br />Storm Water Drainage Committee made up of representatives of Bay Village, <br />Westlake and Nbrth Olmsted. <br />The Service Director presented plans to the City Planning Committee for <br />North Olmsted Park. <br />The Service Director requested an adjustment in wages fpr Service Department <br />employees. This request was turned over to the Finance Commlttee. <br />The Clerk read a letter from E. Pivecevich, Editor of the West Life concerning <br />the publishing of the Financial Report. <br />Mr. J. Hoislbauer presented the preliminary plat for his subdivision to <br />the City Ptanning Committee. <br />Mr. Van Zandt, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reported on their meet- <br />ing of April 9, 1963 and advised that the committee does not recommend amending <br />the Zoning Ordinance to permit use of storage fences, tool sheds and accessory <br />buildings as requested by the Boarc3 of Zoning Appeals. <br />Mr. Van Zandt also advised that the committee recommends that no action be <br />taken on the request for "No Parking" on split streets. <br />Mr. Van Zandt advised that the committee is reviewing the prob)ems of snow <br />removal on sidewalks and abandoned cars and parking in the event of a snow <br />emergency. <br />Mr. Christman, Chairman of the Public Develapment and Service Committee , <br />reported on their meeting of April 11, 1963 and advised that the committee <br />does not recomm'end a change in zoning where iK would Increase the load An <br />t5e sanitary sewers. He advised that the deve1opers had submitted an <br />agreement whereby they would limit the number of units and the number of <br />bedrooms to a unit which would not increase the sewer load sp therefore the <br />committee recommends passage of Ordinance No. 62-205. <br />Mr. Christman adviscd that the committee also recommends passage pf Ordinances <br />No. 62-203 and 62-204. <br />Mr. Leonard advised that the Swimming Pool Committee is waiting to hear from <br />the Planning Commission advising of their recommendation for the location <br />of a swimming pool. <br />
