<br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO

<br />Present: Francis J. 0'Neill, President of Council; James Leonard; Dewey Limpert;
<br />A.L. Mangani; Narman Van Zandt and John We:st.
<br />Absent: Henry Caster, Virginia Hodgins, Mayor Ralph Christman.
<br />Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Director of Law; W. L. Gerlach, Director of Finance;
<br />Richard Labas, City Engineer, D. E. Limpert, Saf ety-Service Director; Margaret West, Cler
<br />First order of business was a public hearing on Ordinance 64-30. An ordinance amend-
<br />ing Section 1225.02 of Ordinance No. 62-33 (The 2oning Code of the City of North
<br />Olmsted) as it relates to the size of signs in general retail business districts
<br />and adding a new paragraph (G) to said Section 1225.p2. The Clerk read the ordinance
<br />as amended in its entirety.
<br />Mrs. Hodgins and Mr. Caster are now present,
<br />Mr. Mangani moved for suspension of the rule requirtng amendments to Zoning Ordinances
<br />to be referred to the Planning Commission, for the rea$on that the amendments to the
<br />ordinance do not constitute a change in initention or content of the ordinance, but
<br />only in construction and use of words. It is tinnece.ssary that it be referred to the
<br />Planning Commission, since the Planning Cotnmissian has previously approved the ordi-
<br />nance as to its content and intent at a pr:ior time. Motion was seconded by Mr. West.
<br />"Yeas" Caster, Hodgins, Leonard, Limpert, P+Ianpni, Van Zandt, West.
<br />Mr. Mangani then moved that rules of Counexl be suspended, specifically Rules 50 and
<br />56. Seconded by Mrs. Hodgins. "Yeas" Caste:r, Hodgins, Leonard, Limpert, Mangani,
<br />Van Zandt, West.
<br />Mr. Mangani then made a motion seconded by Mx. Van Zandt, that the ordinance as amended
<br />be passed. "Yeas" Caster, Hodgins, Leonardl, Limpert, Mangani, Van Zandt, West.
<br />The public hearing was declared ended, and roll was called for the Council meeting.
<br />The minutes of the meeting of March 3, 1964 were eorrected, and approved as correctsd.
<br />Corxections were also made in the minutes of the meeting of March 17, 1964, and the
<br />minutes then approved as corrected.
<br />In the absence of the mayor, President 0'Neill read a citation appointing Helmut Willke,
<br />Exchange Student in our community, as Honorary Mayor of North Olmsted for April 18, 1964.
<br />The Mayor's Proclamation of INTERNATIONAL R.ELATIONS WEEK from April 12 to 18 was read.
<br />The week of April 12-17 was proclaimed LITE•-A-BIKE WEEK. During this week, at the Fire
<br />Departments in North Olmsted, the firemen will place reflector tape donated by the
<br />Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Company on all bicycles, in the interest of bicycle
<br />saf ety.
<br />April was proclaimed INDUSTRIAL SAFETY MONTH by the Mayor.
<br />Safety-Service Director Limpert called Council's attention to reports for the month
<br />?
<br />of March from the Fire, Police and Building Departments.

<br />Director Limpert reported that Sudkamp Ford's bid of $3,100 for police car5'was
<br />accepted.
