Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Neili; <br />Henry Caster; Jack Foltz; Carroll Eian; Virginia Hodgins; Dewey Limpert; <br />A. L. Mangani. <br />Also present: Law Direcfior J. Bruce Kitchen; Safety-Service Director Dei <br />Limpert; City Engineer, Richard Labas; Margaret West, Clerk. <br />Absent: John West. <br />Minutes of the meeting of May 4th were corrected om page 5, Ordinance No. 6-t>-i"21, <br />by adding another correction, as follows: 115. In seeond paragraph on Page 5, <br />first line, delete word "only". The minutes were then approved as correcfieci. <br />Mayor Christman proclaimed the month of June Vehicle 5afety-Check Month. <br />The Mayor also reported that the annual reports should all be distributed by <br />now. Boy 6couts from Troops 204 and 664 were involved in distributing the <br />reports and information on garbage and rubbish eollection, <br />Safety-Service Dire ctor Limpert requested legislation for the purchase of one <br />or two new buses, pointing out that if they are ordered no later than July i,t <br />we could expect delivery in October or November. <br />He also asked the status of previous requests for legislation authorizing the <br />purchase ot an all-purpose vehicle for the Fire Department, and legislatian <br />authorizing construction of a fence for Safety Town. <br />Safety-Service Director Limpert further requested that Ordinance No. 66-121 <br />being introduced at this meeting be passed on an emergency basis. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman af Public Service and Utilities Committee, reported or <br />-their meeting held on May 16th, AIl reports and advertising as to incinera- <br />tion and landfills was turned over to the Engineer, and the committee agreed <br />that the Engineer's feasibility study should include methods of disposal; pre- <br />design estimates of cost of construction of each method; operation cost analysis; <br />sitE location of transfer point or incinerator; participation in operation r>y <br />other communitites; and methods of financing. <br />The Safety Committee also considered the Street Lighting cost analysis prepared <br />by the Illuminating Cqmpany. The necessity for recommended additional ligh±inq <br />was discussed, together with possible sources of additional revenue. Each ward <br />councilman is requested to check the report with regard to lights in his ward, <br />where additional lights should be plaQed and where streets are without illuminia- <br />tion, with a view toward adding some, as recommended by the Illuminating Company. <br />
