. . MINUTES OF MEETIN6 OF THE COUNCIL AW OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED April 19, 1966 8:19 P.M. Present: Mayor Ralph E.Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Neill; Henry Caster; Carroll Eian; Jack Foltz; Virginia Hodgins, Dewey Limpert; A.L. Mangani; John West. Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Law Director; W. L. Gerlach, Finance Director; Richard Labas, City Engineer; Margaret West, Clerk of Council. Minutes of April 5, 1966 were carrected as follows: On Page 3, in the next to bottom line of the 7th paragraph, insert "which" between"from" and 117.699". On Page 10, in the second paragraph, second line, delete "Wellesley from l.orain" and insert "Elmhurst from Wellestey". The minutes were then approved as corrected. Mayor Christman announced that the State of Ohio had set a public hearing date for the proposed relocation of State Route 252. The hearing is to be held on May 12th at 2:00 P.M. at the Community Cabin. The Mayor also requested that Council review some items in the garbage and rub- bish ordinance. Engineer Labas reported that plans, specifications and estimates of cost for the Great Northern Boulevard improvements are on file. Pians, specifications and estimates of cost for the 1966 sidewalks, in the first program, are on file at City Hall. Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman of the Public Service and Utilities Committee, reported on a centralized refuse collection system, as explained by Mr. Wagner of Road Machinery and Supply Co. at a talk on April 6th attended by fihe Utilities Comnittee members, Safety-Service Director Limpert, Dewey Limpert, Engineer Labas and Mayor Christman. The Committee recommends to Council that the City consider this method, and recommends that a survey be made by Elgin Leach to determine the specific needs of North Olmsted in terms ofi size of equiPment, etc., such a survey to be at no cost to the City. Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Legislative Committee reported on their meeting held on April 12th at which Mrs. Hodgins, Councilman Limpert, Mayor Christman, SafEty- Service Director Limpert, Fire Chief Bement and Police Chief Hird were present. A discussion was held on a request received from OlmSted Township for the use of North Olmsted Police facilities, telephone, radio and jail. They discussed the request in detail, and feeling that we have an obligation to our neighbors, the Committee recommends we offer this service for a fee of $500 a month, plus $10 a day for each prisoner, plus cost of ineals. The Law Director will be asked to work out details and prepare a contract.
