. <br />. <br />MINUTES OF MEETIN6 OF THE COUNCIL <br />AW OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />April 19, 1966 <br />8:19 P.M. <br />Present: Mayor Ralph E.Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Neill; <br />Henry Caster; Carroll Eian; Jack Foltz; Virginia Hodgins, Dewey Limpert; A.L. <br />Mangani; John West. <br />Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Law Director; W. L. Gerlach, Finance Director; <br />Richard Labas, City Engineer; Margaret West, Clerk of Council. <br />Minutes of April 5, 1966 were carrected as follows: On Page 3, in the next to <br />bottom line of the 7th paragraph, insert "which" between"from" and 117.699". On <br />Page 10, in the second paragraph, second line, delete "Wellesley from l.orain" and <br />insert "Elmhurst from Wellestey". The minutes were then approved as corrected. <br />Mayor Christman announced that the State of Ohio had set a public hearing date <br />for the proposed relocation of State Route 252. The hearing is to be held on <br />May 12th at 2:00 P.M. at the Community Cabin. <br />The Mayor also requested that Council review some items in the garbage and rub- <br />bish ordinance. <br />Engineer Labas reported that plans, specifications and estimates of cost for the <br />Great Northern Boulevard improvements are on file. Pians, specifications and <br />estimates of cost for the 1966 sidewalks, in the first program, are on file at <br />City Hall. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman of the Public Service and Utilities Committee, reported <br />on a centralized refuse collection system, as explained by Mr. Wagner of Road <br />Machinery and Supply Co. at a talk on April 6th attended by fihe Utilities Comnittee <br />members, Safety-Service Director Limpert, Dewey Limpert, Engineer Labas and Mayor <br />Christman. The Committee recommends to Council that the City consider this <br />method, and recommends that a survey be made by Elgin Leach to determine the <br />specific needs of North Olmsted in terms ofi size of equiPment, etc., such a survey <br />to be at no cost to the City. <br />Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Legislative Committee reported on their meeting held on <br />April 12th at which Mrs. Hodgins, Councilman Limpert, Mayor Christman, SafEty- <br />Service Director Limpert, Fire Chief Bement and Police Chief Hird were present. <br />A discussion was held on a request received from OlmSted Township for the use of <br />North Olmsted Police facilities, telephone, radio and jail. They discussed the <br />request in detail, and feeling that we have an obligation to our neighbors, the <br />Committee recommends we offer this service for a fee of $500 a month, plus $10 a <br />day for each prisoner, plus cost of ineals. The Law Director will be asked to work <br />out details and prepare a contract. <br />Mr. Foltz also reported that the Fire Chief and the Police Chief have requested <br />that the City select a doctor to give the physical Examinations required by the <br />compulsory retirement ordinance for all police and firemen who have reached the <br />?.. . . .. ... ... . , . . .. .. . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .... . . ttp0."%?nr: Y`?S+N?4a?.n;.?u:M?Pa,+*nw?N;.v
