Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Nelio; <br />Henry Caster; Carroll Eian; Jack Foltz; Virginia Hodqins; Dewey Limpert; <br />A. L. Manqani; John West. <br />Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Law Director: W. L. Gerlach, Finance Director; <br />Del Limpert, Safety--Service Director; Richard Labas, City Enqineer; Marqaret <br />West, Clerk of Council. <br />. Minutes of the meetinq of March 15, 1966 were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported that a study'has been made of the posqibility of com- <br />bining the City's insurance in one larqe policy witM the hope of an additional <br />premium reduction. Such a policy would combine fleet insurance, fire insurance <br />and liability insurance. Mayor Christman requested authority for the Safety- <br />Service Director to advertise for this insurance. The Mayor reported that the Metropolitan Park Board has been approached and is <br />interesi-ed in buying the proptrty between the Garden City section and Hampton <br />Drive. If Cotncil is im accord, he would present plans to the proper Council <br />committee, and if they were in favor of the`plan, to forward 'such approval and <br />encouraqement to the Park Baard. <br />" Mayor Christman asked for authority 46-proceed with the sanitary sewer on Canterbury <br />Road north of Lorain, to bie tied into the sewer in Sandy Ridqe #2, and asked that <br />the matter be referred infi.o committee for consideration. ' <br />The Mayqr also announced two proclamations in April. April has bEen proclaimed <br />Industrial 5afety Month by Governor Rhades, and the mayors of Ohio's cities are <br />cooperatinq. Chamber of Commerce week has been proclaimed for the week of <br />April 3rd to April 9th. <br />.The Mayor furnished Council members with copies of a proposed tap-in ordinance, <br />_and requested that it be referred to the appropriate committee for action. <br />. <br />Mrs. Hodqins, Chairman of the Public Ser-vice ahd Utilities Committee, reported <br />thaf they had been busy viewinq various types of incinerators, and had visited <br />a hammer mill last waek, but had nothing definite to report. <br />Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Leqislative Committee, reported that they held a meet- <br />inq on March 31st, at which they discussed the request from the Safiety-Service <br />pirector regarding charqing a flat fee of $100 for oversize vehicles using the <br />streets of North Olmsted frequently. After discussion they agreed to contact <br />the Police Chief for his opinion, which was that it would be satisfactory as lonq <br />as the contractor payinq the yearly fee would notify the police each time they <br />transported an oversize vehicle through the City. The Committee will study this <br />question further at their next meetinq. • <br /> <br /> <br />. <br />?
