4 t . MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED Fabruary 1, 1966 8:08 P.M. Present: Mayor Ralph Christman; President of Council Francis J. Minutes of the meeting of January 18, 1966 were corrected as follows: On Page 2, paragraph 7, change "Butternut Heiqhts No.211 to 'rBeverly Hills Subdi- vision ", and add " now known as -0Imsted Woods Subdivision". The minutes were fihen approved as corrected. The Safiety-Serviee Director requested thst a petty cash fund ofi $50.00 be established for the Police and-Fire Departments, so thet much unnecessary paper work can be eliminated. He also requested an increase in the petty cash fund handled by the Mayor's Secretary, from $25.00 to $50.00. AIl re- quests were referred to the Finance Committee for consideration. Mr. Limpert referred to the various monthly reports which Couneii had received from City Departments, and called attention to the Service Department's report ? which will now also be prepared on a monthly basis. President 0'Neill commented on the excellence•of theMannual report submitted by Police Chief Christman for 1965, and reque-sted-th?e,Clerk to read Chief Christman's letter introducing the report. The Safety Service Director requested that the Finance Committee give considera- tion to raiaing the salary of the Pubiic Works Cotnmissione-r-from $7,300 to $7,600. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee. Mr. Caster, Chairman of the Municipal Development Commifitee, reported that at their last meetinq they diseussed a tenfiative program for 1966 and 1967 on sidewalk installations. Included in the early proqram for 1966 are Garden City and North Barton. The north side of Kennedy Ridge and Dover sidewalks are tentatively scheduled for a later program in 1966. Repairs to sidewalks on Burns are also contemPlated in the first part of 1966. It is.to be hopEd that this can be accomplished by notitying the people to make repairs, and where they are not made, having the Safety-Service-Director install the necessary repairs and bill the property owners, without havinq to involve Council action. Alexander Road is also scheduled for sidewa-lks some time during 1966. In 1967 s'sdewalk installation is planned fior South Barton and Cantarbury, south of Butternut. Paving of Southern-Porter-Midvale was also discussed, and they will probably try to go ahead with that this year. ?,
