L. Gerlach, Finance Director; J. Bruee Kitchen, Law Director; <br />Del Limpert, Safety-Service Director; Richard Labas, City Enqineer; Margaret <br />West, Clerk. <br />Minutes of the meeting of January 4, 1966 were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman submitted two recommendafiions for appointments to the Council <br />for approval, Richard Labas as City Enqineer, and William Scheeff to serve or <br />the Board of Zoninq Appeals for a term endinq Qecember 31, 1970. <br />The Mayor requested that Council consider leqislation to assess the cost of <br />street liqhting throuqh the en-Fire city. Studies are being made on the cost <br />of bringing the liqhting on all cifiy streets up to minimum lighting standards. <br />This cannot be provided #or all at once from General Funds, and therefore <br />a levy on property valuation or an assessment per front foot is being suqqested. <br />Mayor Christman requested that provision be made for funds for preparation of <br />the second annual report on the city. It is being drawn up and should be ready <br />,for mailinq around the end of February. <br />The Safety-Service Director rsquested authority to advertise for 1500 tons of slag <br />and 300 tons of asphalt. <br />He also requested an incrEase in salary for the Superintendent of Operations of <br />the Bus Line, with asalary scals of $7,500 to $8,500 per year beinq provided. <br />Also requested was a change in position to Superintendent of the North Olmsted <br />Municipal Bus Line. <br />Safety-Service Director Limpert further requested consideration of the Table of <br />Orqanization for the Fire Departmen-h, changi'nq''it" to include two captains. <br />John West, on behalf of Council, asked Charles Watts, Superintendent of the <br />Sewaqe Treatment Plant, to step forward, and commended him on the thoroughness <br />of the annual report he had submitted, as well as the reduction of costs which <br />was reported therein. <br />Mr. Foltz, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reported that they met on <br />January Ilth with Mrs. Hodqins, Dewey Limpert and Law Director Kitchen in <br />attendance. They discussed the CATV franchise request, and are arranginq a <br />meetinq early in February with representatives from Ohio Bell Telephone and a <br />TV station, who will explain the other side of the story. Council will be <br />notified of the date of the meeting, so that they all may attend. <br />?
