MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, OHIO <br />January 19, 1965 <br />8:22 P.M. <br />Present: Mayor Ralph Christman; President of Council Francis J. 0'Neill; <br />Henry Caster; Jack Foltz; Virginia Hodgins; Jamees Leonard; Dewey Limpert; <br />Alex Mangani; John West. <br />Also present: J. Bruce Kitchen, Director of Law; W. L. Gerlach, Director of <br />Finance; Del Limpert, Safety-Service Director; Richard Labas, City Engineer' <br />• <br />Margaret West, Clerk of Council <br />Minutes of January 5th were approved after eorrection of a typographical error <br />on page 4, changing "65-331" to "64-331". <br />Minutes of the special meeting of January 7th were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman announced that he was proclaiming the week of January 18th as <br />Kiwanis Golden Anniversary Week, in recognitfon of the organization's fiftieth <br />year, <br />The Mayor recommended that the City of North Olmsted join the Regional Planning <br />Commission and through it undertake a study of a master plan. He proposes that <br />funds be allocated in the budget and asks for Cauncil's approval. <br />The Mayor discussed the fact that the City of Cleveland has been considering a <br />10 to 15% tax on water bills. Although it is not legal now, there is legisls- <br />tion before the State Legislature making an attempt to legalize this, Mayor <br />Christman suggested that North Olmsted indicate its opposition to this in the <br />form of a resolution to the Govoernor, the State Legislature and the Council <br />of the City of Cleveland. <br />Safety-Service Director Limpert presented a written report, showing the eatimated <br />cost for demolition of the Package Treatment Plants, as determined by him and <br />Steve Sebesta, to be from $1,000 to $1,500, and the estimated value of the equip- <br />ment usable by the City for replacement parts or as a complete unit to be from <br />$4,000 to $5,000.
