R 0. ' MII3UTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL 4F THE CI'T'Y OF NORTH pLMSTED MAY 19, 1970 8:00 p.rn. Preaent: President Francis J. 0'ATeill, Councilmen Boehmer, Grady, Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasy, Speedling, tJest. Also present: Mayor Raiph E. Christman, Service Dfrector Charles Watts, Finance Dfrector William Gerlach, Law Director J. Bruce Kitchen, Acting City Engineer Michael Rarhan and Clerk of Council Nora Hill. Minutes of Council meeting of May 6th, and minutes of Public Hearing on April 27th were approved as written. riayor Christman stated he understood the City of Westiske had their water ban lifted officially today. I-le are still waiting for ours and have no idea as to when it will be lifted. Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman Public Parks Property & Recreation, and Public Health & Welfare Comnittees, reported the fo11aw3ng: 1) Public Farks Property & Recreation Committee met on May 7th, also present Mr. Watts and Mr. Carnahan of Administratioa. 2'he location, supervision and main- tenance of the swimming pool was dtscussed. In the event the swinmiing pool becomes a reality the Service Department depot will hsve to be moved; thus providing parkfng area for swimming pool. On the pramise that State Route 252 will be relocated, this Committee is recommending the relocatian of the Service Department depot to the land owned by the Citq and adjacent to the proposed rerouCed State Route 252. This would pxovide a four lane access highway for Service Department vehicles in an area where there are few homes; 2) At the Recreation Camtni.ssion meet3ng on May 12tiz the aite for the swimming pool was described and shown by means of an aerial photo to this group by Mrs. Hadgins; 3) Public Health & Welfare Committee met on May 18th, presenC Mrs. Hodgins, Mr. Boehmer, Mr. craay, Mr. WatCS and Mr. Johnston of the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitatian - Ohfo State Board of Education. Mr. Johnston exp2.ained the purpose of his Bureau. It is rehabilitation for the physically, mentallp and socially handicapped. Its purpose is to take people from possibly being an relief roll to becom3ng taxpaying citizens. Services of this Bureau are available, mosCly without charge, to any resident of Ohio. Pew North Olmsted residents are psrtici- pants in this program. Brochures describing the services are available at City Hall; 4) In other action, the Committee recommends the repeal of Ordinance No. 1349.01 which refers to garbage fncineratore required for dwellings. Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Municipal Development Committee reported this Committee me(on May 13th and the following items were discussed: 1) regard- ing Mr. TinDthy's letter to Council, the Committee would like to study his request and give a decision at a later date; 2) itl re sidewalks on Great Northern Blvd. from the parcel af land north of Tq00e Department Store to Lorain Road, this Committee feels that sidewalks Ohould be inetalled on this vacant land so geople can walk without danger; 3) the Committee has
