r- MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COt]NCIL OF THE CITY OF 10QRTH Ot.MSTED MAY 6, 1970 s:ao P.M. Present: President Francis J. 0'Neill, Councilmen Boehmer, Grady, Hodgins, Lfmpert, Prokasy, Speedling. Also present: Mayor Ralph E. Christman, Service Director Charles WaCts, Law Mrector J. Bruce Ritchen, Finance Director William Gerlach, Acting City Engineer Michael Karhan, Clerk of Council NoYa Hiil. Absent: Councilman Joha West IrLinutes of Counci3 meeting of April 21st were approved as written. Maqor Christman reported the follawing: 1} would like to praclaim June 6th as All Scouts Day. This is the aanual Scout celebration in Narth Olmted. It starts out with honorary City Official.,s, n-id ali of the councilmen having a counterpart, a luncheon, parade in afternoon and activities in the park. More information will be going to the City Officials as it is developed; 2) also, in coogeratfon wfth Project "Face Lift 1970" would like to proclaim May 16th to May 30th as clean up weeka in North 0].msted, and urge all citizens to participate and ccxoperate with the clesn up programs that wi21 be going on at that tiae; 3) the sealing of the sauitaxy sewers in the Walter Road ares has had same significant results in stopping some of the storm water flow tiiere, and he is 6cpeful that if enough can get done within the bu+dget, it will ?e a rea2 e€foetiwe measure of correction; 4) in reference to the abaadaned house at 4953 Grace Road, the State said that ft will shortly be torn dowm. Mrs. Aodgina, Chairman Puhlic Partcs Progerty & Recreation, and Pubiic Heaith & Welfare Crnamittees, had no report but stated thero w31.1 be meetings of the Public Parks Yroperty & Recreation Comittee on May 7th at 7:30 p.m., and May 14th at 7:30 p.m.9 also a meeting of the Public Health & Welfare Cownaittee on May 18th at 7:30 g.m., at cahich time Mr. 3ohnston of the State Rehabilitation Center will speak to the Ccmen:[ttee. Mr. $oehmer, Chairmaa Municipal Develogment Committee reported the follawing: 1) the Committee met ou April 29th aad discussed propertq owned by Mrs. George Bernadine, 19643 James Way Arive, SCrcmgsville, who owns permanent parcel No. 232-02-16. This parcel of land is not buildable and owraer is being charged for a sewer coanection which she feels cannot be used unless stie buys additional property. 1Krs. Bernadine is asking that the assessment be lifted on this property. The 2ot is located on the propcased extension of North Park Drfve; 2) the property owaed by Frank and Helen Rlein of 4742 Porter Road wes also discussed. Mrs. Klein objects to tha assessment for s#dewalk.s of sffie addre:s. The Committee feels there should be a refund of $469.34 that was paid by them to the contractor to install the sidewaZks. The Tiunicipal Taevalop- ment Committee is referring the iaatter to the Finaace Comittee recommend- ing payment; 3) Mr. Ear1 2lmotttq's property on Broxbourne Aoad was also discuased.
