w <br />? <br />MINUTES OF TfiE MEETING OF THE COt7NCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 7, 1970 <br />8:00 p.m. <br />Present: President Francis J. 0'Neill, Councilmen Boehmer, Grady, <br />Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasy, Speedling, tiJest. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph E. Christman, Finance Director 4Jilliam <br />Gerlach, Service Director Charles Watts, Assistant Engineer <br />David Ransbury, Acting Clerk of Council Elorence Holm. <br />Absent: Law Director J. Bruce Kitchen, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Minutes of Council meeting of March 17th were approved as written. <br />Minutes of Council's Public Hearing on March 23rd were also approved <br />as written. <br />Mayor Christman said he had received the report on the Bassett - Stearns <br />extension fram the County Eagineer. There will be one in office and also <br />one for circulation. There are two pieces of legislation on pay raises <br />for Police and Firemen here tonight which were just received today and <br />not on agenda. Mayor Christman cotmaented on Ordinance No. 70-68, an <br />ordinance authorizing agreement for enlargement to Sewage Treatment Plant, <br />saying it is on agenda tonight and he would recommend passing it on emer- <br />gency read3ng. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairman Public Parks, Property & Recreation Committee, <br />reminded Council of ineeting with Recreation Commission on April 14th at <br />8:30 p.m. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Municipal Development Committee, said this committee <br />had met on March 30th to discuss sidewalk assessment for property of Mr. <br />R. A. Charles. The Charles property was assessed for 394 feet which is <br />entire Barton Road sideyard, less length of steel gas manhole covering, <br />at $5.00 per foot. Our previous policy has been to assess sidewalk side- <br />yards for their entire length. The Committee ruled that assessment be <br />upheZd at $5.00 per foot. This Committee also discussed I?over Road Lift <br />Station and LeBern Lift Station. Both stations need additional pump <br />controls with reacto speed controls; also, replacing two existiag controls <br />wiCh reacto speed controls. This will increase capacity of lift station <br />and provide for future connections. As a resnlt of Sanitary Sewer <br />Contracts 11, 12, 15 and 16, the additional connections at Dover Lift <br />Station require conversion of two existing pumps to larger motors to give <br />increased capacity and also addition of one more pump with a 50 HP motor. <br />This is necessary to proper7.y handle the anticipated flow at this Lift <br />Station. Total cost of both contracts should not exceed $60,000.00. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Design & P2atting Committee, reported that there had <br />been no objectiong and very few comments at the Public Hearing on the <br />rezoning of iJesterly Towers.
