MEETING OF TI,E COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF N0RTH OU2STED <br />JANUARY 6, 1970 <br />8:00 p.m. <br />Present: President Fraucis J. 0'Neill, Councilmen Boehmer, Grady, <br />Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasy, Speedling. <br />Absent: Gouncilman 3ohn tJest <br />Also present: IZayor Ralph E. Christman, Service Director Charles <br />Watts, Finance Aireetor tailliara Gerlach, Law Director J. <br />Bruce Kitchen, Acting City Engineer Michael Karhan, Clerk <br />of Council Nora Hill. <br />riinutes of ineeting of December 16th oiere approved as caritten. <br />Mayor Christman informed Council that the Assessment Equalization <br />Board met on December 30th to review objections which had been filed <br />on Contract 15 by corrections shown an proposed Reso].ution 70-8. He <br />also asked for the preparation of an Ordinance to determine to proceed <br />with Contract 15. He requested Couacil's consideration for passage of <br />70-8 and 70-9 tonight. <br />4D Mayor Christman requested Council's approval af appointments to the <br />following Commissions: - Reappointment of Rurt Richards to the Flanning <br />Commission, Richard Lancashire to Board of Zoning Appeals, James Bailey <br />to the Recreation Commission and the appointment of J. Echiard Brewer to <br />the Planning Comwission. <br />Mayor Christman stated, the State AudiCor called to his attention that <br />Ordinance 64-20 combining the positions of Safetq and Service Director <br />was not repealed in 1958 and requested legislatfon repealing Ordinance <br />64-20, to establish these positions as separate entities. <br />Aeting Engineer Michael Karhan, Service Director, Charles Watts, and <br />Mayor Ralph Christman met with representatives from Floyd Brown & <br />Associates to discuss financing and expansion of the Saaitary Sewer <br />Treatment Plant. Mayor Christman did not have time to get results in <br />writing but will be recammending a resolution which should initiate <br />procedures to take advantage of available financing. <br />Aiayor Christman asked Council to consider hi.s recomaendations for City <br />Commissions at tanight's meetiitg. He indicated that there were three <br />reappointments and one new appointment. <br />Mr. Prokasy moved that J. Edward Brewer be appointed to the Pltutaing <br />Commission for a f0 year term ending Decendser 31, 1974. Motion was <br />seconded by Mrs. Hodgins.
