<br />Clerk of Council Florence Holm.
<br />The minutes of the January 21st meeting T-*ere anproved as '?rittep,
<br />'?ayor Christman said that the Di.stinguished Service Award for Project Face-
<br />Lift (for cities over 25,000 population) is to be presented in Washington,
<br />D. C. on February 25th. South Euclid and North Olmsted have won this award.
<br />The Mayor rec±uests Council to authorize sending some citizens to ?4ashington
<br />for the occasion. Mayor Christman also read a letter received from the De-
<br />partment of Natural Resources, expressing regret that North OltnpCed`s project
<br />was one which di,d not receive priority due to lack of sufficient fuilds. This
<br />letter did suggest that the Department will receive appliGatioa& duXing May
<br />and June 1969, to be considered undez the fiscal year 1970 in allqcation of
<br />funds. Mayor Christman reauested Council to authorize resubmitting Chis ap-
<br />plicati.on be£ore July 1, 1969. The ?Tayor also said he would like to sutbmit
<br />the name of Joseph Kolick for necreation Commission, and Mrs. Muriel Eian
<br />for Board of Zonina Appeals, and reauests Council`s aporoval.
<br />P4rs. Hodgins, Chairman of Liouor Control and pu'?lic Service & ETtilfties Com-
<br />mittees, mentioned that the Liauor Control Committee ?ias an apDlication for
<br />a C2 vermi.t under consideration.
<br />Mr. Miller, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reo-uested meeting pf
<br />committee on February 12, at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Limpert, Ghairman of the Transportation Committee, said this cprtimittee
<br />had met and discussed the condition of the fleet of buses, partiCul$riy the
<br />maintenance that has been put into buses to keep them in operation. This
<br />subject will be continued at another meeting, also the possibiltty pf pur-
<br />phasing new buses.
<br />Mr. West, Finance Committee Chairman, said this committee had mot on Febzu-
<br />ary 3rd. They had discussed what to do about overtime of Police pepartment,
<br />when it should be paid and how much should be accumulated. Legislat1on spell-
<br />ing out committee's recommendations will be requested. Vacation 9rd9.nances
<br />were also discussed, and salary ranges in Building Department, Engineezing
<br />Department, secretary for Commissions and the Administration wera reuiewed.
<br />f3rdinances are ready on these. Also discussed was legislation authoriztng
<br />the Finance Director to pay up to $100 on sewer charges where thr C1ty of
<br />Cleveland makes adjustments because of faulty meter readings, etc. Eommittee
<br />approved request for legislation to advertise for new and recapp¢d tiros, and
<br />gasoline and slag for the year.
<br />"Ir. Prokasy, Chairman of Design & Platting, and Puhlic °arks, Pr4pex'ty &
<br />Recreatian Committees, said that Planning Comnission is recomangndiTig a 34
