Bruce Kitchen, Pinance Directvr fJilliam <br />Gerlach, City Eagineer mi.chael Karhan, Clerk af Councfl <br />Nora Hill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President 0'Neill at 8;00 P.m. <br />A?inutes of Council meeting of April 20, 1971, were approved as written. <br />ASayor Christman reported the follcrFying; 1) re - limiting o£ school huses <br />in our schools is going to create quite a problem i.n City. Would like <br />to request ajoint meeting of Safety Canni.ttee and 3treets & Drsinage <br />Committee of Council because manq sidewalka are innalved; 2) Gitq has <br />received an award from the Cuyahoga Soil & Taater Causerva!tian nistrfct <br />as a re$ult of a display of the work North Olmsted has been doing on <br />pol.iution in regard to the Treatment Plant, Walk In Park, Recreatian <br />area proposed at the old lana fill and master tree planting program; <br />3) also have a' proclamation that ia in accord acr.d active throughaut <br />the State of Ohio, in an effort to show a etrong United SCates support <br />for priaoners of war from the Vietnam Wsr and slso those`missitYg in <br />action, urging the Govezamants to release their nsmes and prvvide hunaae <br />treatmeat. This'is accvmpsnqing circulation of a petition bp Ghamber <br />of Commerce sad :Fay*ceea, and would urge signiag of the petition. <br />Servics Director Henry Caster reported the follawing: 1) street striping <br />has started - arsa €ram Canterbury Road east to the Fai'rview line the <br />le€t turn lane is striped. Will continue as weather permita; 2) have <br />planted approximately 350 trees on variosis streets. Maay r=ap t <br />trees were not plamCed; many of the types of repZacemeat tseft ****awt <br />avai2abie. Al.though aome of the replacement types were avsilsble because <br />of the warm weather at Easter time upsetting the tree bucldin$ achesdule, it <br />was recoemended that trees not be planted anyzaore thiB 3pring. The Disorderly Conduct Ordtnaatce is baing revieved by Cormittee - <br />nothing conclusive tonight; 2) Ccrnai,ttee also revi.ewed two recent liquor <br />permit applicatione and both appltcsits have other liqucfr licenses.
