Chxiotmwua, Service Directoz Henry Caster, <br />Law Director J. Bruce Kitchen, F3natice Director Wi11iam Gerlach, <br />Citq Engineer Michael Rarhaa, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Minutes of Council.meeting of 3anuary 5, 1971, were approved as written. <br />Mayor Christman reported the follawing: I) received notification that <br />Ptr. Eraest Green resigned fram the Board of Building Code Appeal.s and <br />as yet has nat nanied a replacement. At last Council meeting subffiitted <br />the name of Mr. Marvin Ruggles to succeed the vacancy created at the <br />end of the year. Inasmuch as Council naw has resume of Mr. Ruggles, re- <br />quests Coaucil approval; 2) received authorization from Federgl Water <br />Quality Administration cn January 7th that we could enter into conCract <br />with the three proposed bidders on the Sanitary Sewage Tr+eatmant Plant; <br />3) receivsd official notification from Secretary of State that our pop- <br />ulation is now 34,$61. The Charter gives Council 90 days to rerllvide the <br />City ir wards of equal papulatioa, and as this notice has been sexved this <br />action should be started; 4) proclaims the week of January 17[h thru <br />January 23, 1971 as Jun3vr Chamber of Comiaerce week in recognition of the <br />worlc that the North 0lmsted JayCeea do for the conummity; 5) regarding <br />Ord. Nos. 71-8, 71-9, 71-20 - fixing conpensation for the next term of <br />Mayor, Laxa Director and Finance Director, on agenda this evening. Recouuends <br />the Ordinance fixing ccmpensation of the Maqvr not be passed by virtue of <br />the fact that the newly adopted Charter amendment provides for a full tinse <br />Safety Director, and this additionai help will lessen the work load required <br />o£ the Mayor. Regarding the compensation of Law Dfrector and Finatace <br />Director feels that these dutiee have increased, ss have al1 of the areas <br />in the elected and apgointed officials within the City aud recommende that <br />theee Ordinances be passed, 6) Alao on Agenda is Ordinance an sever rate <br />and requests that Council act favorably an this so that construction of <br />the expansion of t,ze Treatment P2ant can be started. <br />Mrs. Hodgins, Chairai8n Public Safety, Aeslth & Welfare and Recreation, <br />Public Parks & Building Comnittees, reported was in recesipt of letter <br />from Mr. Russell Biermm regarding request of Mr. Grady for a cantiuuai <br />right turn movement northbound on Columbia Rd. at Mastick Rd. Mr. Bierman <br />recommettds that an attempt b+e made to work this out. Referred metter to <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Streets & Drafnage Committee. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported Commfttee <br />met aud discussed Mr. Woodbur3?'s properCp at 28845 Windsor Drive.
