<br />Present: President Francis J. O'Neill, Cauncil~n Boehmer, Gic~ser, Limpert,
<br />Prokasy, Beringer, Speedling, tdest.
<br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christman, Service Director Henry Caster, Law
<br />Director J. Bruce Kitc'ksn, Finar~e Director William Gerlach,
<br />City Engineer Michael Karhan, Clerk of Council Nora Hill.
<br />Meeting was called to order by President O'Neill at 8:00 P.M.
<br />Minutes of Council Meeting of September 19, 1972 were approved as written.
<br />Mayor Christman reported the following: 1) October 7th and 8th are TI~G
<br />Days in North Olmsted, whearein studeEnts will solicit contributiotrs for the
<br />American Field Service. Mayor Christman read proclamation on history of
<br />the American Field Service, proclaiming October 7 and October 8, 19,72, as
<br />American Field Service Days in North Olmsted, and hopes entire Cite will
<br />support this program;
<br />Z) read proclamation in recognition of the iakrite Cane serving the blietd and
<br />physicallq handicapped, and proclaimed October 15, 1972, as White Cane
<br />Safety Day;
<br />3) Jaycees will tsild their annual Halloween program on October Z8, 1972, at
<br />2:00 P.M., at the High School. Also several churches hazre scheduled Ilalla-
<br />ween parties -people should check with various churches regarding this.
<br />Ile reminded the parents of children who do go out trick or treating that
<br />the supervision is the responsibility of the parents, and this should be
<br />closely watched on October 31, 1972, which is the night the Mayors Aasaciation
<br />set forth -hours from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.
<br />Service Director Caster reported the following: 1) to up-date Council on
<br />the T.V. and Grouting Program: Crews are working in the Deerfield Subdivision.
<br />It appears that so far on Fawn Drive there are two points that harms to be
<br />repaired by excavating;
<br />2) televised Dorothy Drive which is in the S.D.C. Subdivision. City is
<br />trying to maintain a "get tough" policy with developers so that situatioas
<br />Chat occurred on the east side will not be the City's problems in then future.
<br />Before any new subdiviaie-n sanitarq set7e~c system is accepted the City intends
<br />to t.v. same;
<br />3) have televised Marion Drive, Clifford Drive, West 233 St. and part of
<br />Michael Drive;
<br />4) xegarding new State Statute on banning of epee busing -the leaf pr~alem
<br />will h~-ve to be solved mainly by the residents . If the residents co~ape~teete
<br />by putting leaves in containers at-d plastic bags (plastic bags axe available
<br />for sale at City Rail) they trill be picked up on the regular colLtction day.
<br />The Sari-Vac will be used mainly is the roadside dit-chess to keep them clear
