O'Neill, Councilmen Soehaier, Giesser, Lia~rt, <br />Prokasy, 5arinfger, Speedling, West. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph ChristawuE, Service Director Henry Caster, Law <br />Director J. Bruce Kitchen, Finance Director Willie Gerlach, <br />City Engineer Michaesl Karhan, Clerk of Council Mora Hill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President O'Neill at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of February 20, 1973, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported: 1) hate received claie from A.F.L.-C.I.C. that <br />they new represent majority of loyees of Service Department sad ha~re <br />replied that inastauch as there are two conflicting claie~ thought it bsst <br />to have an election. Ae yet have not received reply; <br />2) received bids on Police Station -current low bidders: Seuffert Construction <br />on general trades - $b48,769. and $14,000 for equipment in the Range; Arm <br />Heating 6 Air Conditioning at $51,985.; Hatfield Mechanical Contractors for <br />plusbing - $52, 200. ; Doan Blectric -- base bid $49,800. *.aith taro altertutss in <br />amount of $1.030.; La~caping -base bid $26,889.50 - alteraate No. 2 which <br />were sprinklers - $8,435.5€3; for total construction cosC of $b13,109.08 <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Ec~ironAeutal Control Committee, reported Ccaeeettee <br />met on February 15, 1973; also present was Mayor, Service Director amd Councl- <br />man Giesser. Following items were reviewed and discussed: <br />1) defectiveness in Res. No. 73-7 on non-returnabies. It was decided to amend <br />the resolution and resolution will be read later; <br />2) updating City's ord on open-busnin!; to be as strict as the State Lew. <br />Mrs. Saringer spoke with SeQator Matia prior to Como~ittee mestisp;. De 3.nforesed <br />her that North Opted really would not apply for authori$ation to open bv~xa <br />because you would have to show that it would cause unreasonable hardshi~r, at~d <br />as long as City has repsular garbage collection it would be difficult to prase <br />hardship. It was felt it would be safer updating our ordinance rather <br />expecting soeething to change on a state level; <br />3) legislation banning incinerators from new apartments and comsercial buildings <br />immediately. These are the biggest abusers and where most of the ec~plaints <br />stem. 3ti11 in comr~siittee is the phasing out of existing incinerators. <br />4) Dent Environmental Coa~mi,ttee Meeting will be held oa Msrch 15, 1473, 8:30 <br />P.M. , City Ha12. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Public Safety, Health A tieifare Cosatittee, reported <br />Committee met and disused application for a D-2 parm3.t of Rdna M. Smith, <br />30872 Lorain Road. Committee does ob3ect to the application under grounds <br />of suitability of location. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved that Council ob3ect to the application of a D-2 ges~.t of <br />Bdaa M. Smith, 30871 Lorain Rcad. Motion seconch:d by IiY. Prokasy. Affirmative <br />vote: Eoehmer, Giesser, Limpert, Prokasy, Saringer, Speeelling, West. lotion <br />carried. <br />__ <br />
