O'Neill, Councilmen $oehrner, Giessen, Lampert, <br />Pxokasy, Beringer, Speedling, West. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Ct~ristmaa, Service Director Henry Caster, Asst. <br />Lew Director E3.mer Conan, City Engineer Michael Karh~na, Clerk of <br />Council 2~ora Hi11. <br />Meeting was called to order by President O'l~eill at $:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Christman reported the folla~tittg: l) received final plans and specs <br />for Police Station and regquested La+r Director to pretpare legislatio~a which <br />as before Council tonight ,msthoria~.n$ advertising for bids on the Police <br />Station; 2) recommended for Council approval the folicxaing appointasntts to <br />Boards and Commissiosn: Planxiing Casna3assion - Mr. William Tubby for term <br />ending 12/31/77; Board of Zoning Appeals - reappointaent of Mr. Donald <br />Berglund for term ending I2/3i/77, also appointment of Mr. Vincent DePaola <br />for team ending 12/31/74 (replacement of Mr. William "'abbe}; Board of <br />Building Code Appeals - Mr. Jack Fa1tZ for term ending 12/3l/77. <br />3} received com~nication that the County Study on Solid Waste ~r#.11 be <br />released on January 23, 1973, at 3.0:00 A.M., at Council Chambex~e in Clev~a3.and. <br />Study to contain a rec elation for an interim proposal to handle the solid <br />waste in the County. Mayor Christman plans to be in attendee and suggested <br />Mra. Saringer, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, would also be intesrested. <br />Ser~rice Director Caster xeported City has chipped approxirmrtelp 5000 trees <br />and residents are taking the chips. As City gets into Spring Cleaaiing, <br />regular brush pick up will be chipgir+::g at same location; also will have soil <br />conditioner from Treatment Plant available. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported Coaa~ttee <br />Members were pat in attendance at January 4th meeting; therefore, has no <br />report. <br />Mrs. Saringer moved the Clerk of Council send a letter to the Clem. of Council <br />of Cleveland in support of Cleveland's ordinances on their non returnable ban. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Boehmer. Discussion ensued. There aze two ordinances, <br />presently in Committee, one dealing with non returnables and one dealing with <br />a tax. Mr. Pxokasy commented he has not seen copy of proposed legislatiom; <br />therefore does not know what it contains. Mr. West concurred stating he <br />cacuiot reasonably vote and su^port legislation that he has not read. Zu <br />general the idea is goad but information contained in the ardices should <br />be known. Discussion continued. Pres. O'Neill ruled for a roll call oa Motion, <br />ROLL CALL ON MOT20N: Affix~ntative vote: Boehmer, Saringer. Negative vote: <br />Giessen, Lampert, Pxokasy, Speedling, West. 2 yeas - 5 nays - Motioxt defeated, <br />President O'Neill requested Mrs. Saringer to furnish Council with copies of <br />Cleveland's ordinances. <br />Y~~ <br />a <br />
