O'Neill, Councilmen Giesser, Goggin, Lampert, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christman, Law Director Michael Gareau, Service <br />Director Henry Caster, City Engineer J. Howard Childs, Clerk of <br />Council Nara Hill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President O'Neill at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Special Council Meeting of August 22, 1974, were approved as read. <br />Minutes of Special Council Meeting of August 29, 1974, were approved as xead. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of September 3, 1974, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported following: 1) Initial nneeting of Advisory Board for <br />Department of Human Resources was last night. Members were sworn in aril Mr. <br />Paul Wise was elected Chairmmn and Mrs. Dorothy Gall Secretary. They outlined <br />some of Che qualifications they feel we should be looking for in the background <br />of a Director and will be informing various agencies throughout the county that <br />we are looking for applicants. Next meeting will be October $, 1974, and at <br />that time hope to have some resumes for consideration; <br />2) received letter of resignation from Mr. Edward Brener from Planning Co~saion <br />whose term expires the end of this year. Because the Chairman has been called <br />to Paris for a couple of months; would like to recommend for Council's co~asidi~ration <br />to replace Mr. Brewer - Mr. John Roberts who is now serving on the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals, to Planning Coss~ssion to fill unexpired termrof Mr. Brauer. <br />3) as a condition for application for bus grant it is a requirea~-t that a <br />Public Hearing be held to receive con®ents on the impact of impravin$ our bus <br />line. This has been set for October 29, 1974, 8:00 P.M., Council Chambars. This <br />Meeting has to be advertised. <br />Mr. Childs, City Engineer, reported on residential subdivision kno~en as Bl~son <br />Dover Subdivision No. 2 which consists of a single street -- Lit~rood Circle con- <br />sisting of 33 Class A residential houses. A11 of important land da~welc-psm~-t items <br />have been completed and accordingly have authorized the start of building of <br />homes in the subdivi.slon last week. <br />Mrs. Sarin$er, Chairman Environmental Control Committee, reported this Committee <br />met on September 4, 1974, and discussed following: 1) resolution opposing the <br />increase in rates sought by Ohio Bell 'Telephone Company. Committee Ms~ere <br />agreed it would be unconscionable to permit any increase in rates for telephone <br />service in that Ohio Bell was granted a 20~ increase in rates leas than one year <br />ago. There is a resolution on agenda tonight opposing the rate increase; <br />2) re - correspondence received from Public Works Commissioner in regard to <br />pick-up of solid waste. Committee discussed the conditions that nav exfst in <br />the City with the Public Works Commissioner and Service Director. Committee took <br />a tour of the City checking out the existing conditions. Com~titte+s is considering <br />legislation limiting the amount of refuse from commercial and ~lti-establishBtents <br />to be picked up. <br />Mr. Goggin, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, called for a Streets & Drainage <br />Committee Meeting on September 26, 1974, 8:30 P.M., City Aall. <br />
