L4,.~, <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MAY 8, 1974 <br />Present: President Francis J. O'Neill, Couneilasea Giesaar, Goggin, Limpert, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, Trhwat, tdiilaswstry. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christman, LsN Director Michael Garesu, Finance <br />Director Willi~a Gerlach, Service Director Amory Caster, Acting City <br />Engineer Howard Childs, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President O'Neill at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of April 16, 1974, were approved ss read. <br />Mayor Christman reported following: 1) have been notified that All Scouts Dey <br />Program will be June 1, 1974. Council in receipt of copq of program and information <br />and hopes everyone can participate in this; <br />2} sent to Council this evening comsunication from Dept. of Transportation advising <br />that the rezoning proposed at west snd of City did not fall in the highway liaaita- <br />tions that would make this a problem. This is according to Section 5511.01 of <br />Revised Code in which the Citq must notify them of any propaed rezoning;• <br />3) Council in receipt of request for funding of the tieatshore Enforcemsrat Bus~eau <br />fiscal year 1975 - this is from Juiq 1, 1974 to 3uiy 1, 1975 in smo~t of $20,040. <br />Federal Funding has gone down to the point where it is up to the cc~utities to <br />finance this snd respectfully request continuation of supgort of the Westshore <br />Enforcement Bureau; <br />4) received Annual Report of Rocky River Municipal Court which will be on file <br />with the Clerk of Council; <br />5) have request for legislation for employing group known as Workmens Co~ensation <br />Service Compaq who advised City on new requirement that the Citq now paty unetaploy- <br />ment compensation to those who are separated from employment to the City. <br />President O'Neill referred two requests into Finance Committee for study. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Emrironmental Control Ccm~ittee snL~ng Rangs Planning <br />Committee reported Environmental Control Com~aittee met on `29, 1974. In <br />attendance besides Committee Members were Fire Chief, Safety Director, and Building <br />Commissioner. It was decided present ordinance in regard to gas wells and that <br />of the State Bureau of Mines is sufficient. It was mentioned some people do get <br />royalties from these gas wells; also, the fact that the more that are plugged the <br />greater the likelihood that more may become active; <br />2) also discussed was an ordinance requiring gas stations to post their prices <br />where public can see them. tiliil request legislation for this; <br />3) Mrs. Beringer and Mr. Lampert took a trip to Sewage Treatment Plant. Since <br />that visit, Mrs. Saringer visited the Plant again and a couple of improvewents <br />have been made. Hopefully these will help to control the odor problem. <br />Under Long Range Planning Committee: Mrs. Saringer reported she was invited to <br />a Board Meeting of Chamber of Commerce at which Mrs. Saringer told the Board of <br />the Lang Range Planning Committee's thoughts an an advertising campaign regarding <br />the development of the Industrial Park. They, in turn, brought Mrs. Saringer up <br />to date on what the Chamber has done in the past. Anew sign was going to be <br />erected by the Chamber.
