~U..~- <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLI~TED <br />FEBRUARY 19, 1974 <br />Present: President Francis J. O'Neill, Councilmen Gieaaer, Goggin, Lin~sert, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilse~oaky. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christmas, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director William Gerlach, Service Director Henry Caster, Asst. City <br />Engineer David McDer®ott, Clerk of Council Nora Hill, Acting Clerk <br />of Council Margaret West. <br />Meeting was called to order by President O'Neill at 8:00 Y.M. <br />Clerk of Council Nora Hill gave report to Council of validation of signatures <br />on Stearns Road Initiative Petition: 2,183 signatures were validated. <br />President O'Neill excused Mrs. Hill fresn meeting at 8:05 P.M. and Mrs. West <br />assumed duties of Clerk of Council. <br />Minutes o£ February 5, 1974, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported following: 1) would like to invite all interested <br />persons to dedication of new Police Station on Sunday, February Z4, 1974, at <br />3:00 P.M. Folloeving dedication there will be an open house and tour for public; <br />2) on February 14, 1974, eight from City attended the annual meeting of the <br />Aegioaal Planning Commission and heard Directors of Atlanta Metxopolt~ Ar t <br />Transportation Agency give informative talk which was very interesting in view of <br />the discussion on formation of regioaial transportation agency in Cleveland. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Environmental Control Coam~ittee and Long Aaage Planning <br />Committee, reminded Council of meeti~tg st airFort on February 21, 19i4, 8:00 P.M.; <br />2) scheduled an Enviro~ental Control Committee westing on February 25, 1974, <br />7:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Y4r. Goggin, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported following: 1) <br />Committee met on February 12, 1974, with Messrs. McDermott, Caster and Weldon <br />and discussed progress of all ms~or pro3ects now undere~ay. Many of the backyard <br />drainage problems have not been corrected because the ground has not stayed <br />froaen enough to bring equipment in without destroying homeowners' lawns; <br />2) Engineering Degt. has subsdtted a sidewalk repair program far 1974 and same <br />will be turned over to the Finance Committee for approval; <br />3) Mr. Goggin moved to reetove des. No. 74-24 from new legislation on agenda and <br />send Resolution back to Coms~ittee. Motion seconded by Mr. West. Affirmative <br />vote: Giesser, Goggin, Limpert, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilaeeosky. Lotion carried. <br />4) Re Ord. No. ?4-I1 in connection with Tudor House Apartn~xtts: <br />Mr. Goggin moved that Council go on record as voting against the acceptance end <br />dedication of the Tudor Apartmer-t Access Drive. Motion seconded by Mr. West. <br />Mr. Goggin explained reason for motion. <br />Affirmative vote: Giesser, Goggin, Litepert, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. <br />Motion carried. <br />
