A <br />MINUTES OF THE:~lEETING OF THE COUNCYL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLt~:STED <br />MARCH 18, 1975 <br />Present: Councilmen Giesser, Coggin, Li~ert, Saringer, Sharge, West, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Ghriatman, IEaw Director Michael Gateau, Finance Director <br />William Gerlach, Safety Director Rat3-moad Carnahan, Citq 'Engineer J. <br />Howard Childs, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Absent: President Francis J. O'Neill. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem Saringer at $:00 F.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of March 4, 1975, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported following: 1) Res. No. 75-59 on second reading tonight <br />which authorizes the advertising fQr bids for various items needed to outfit the <br />Rec Center. In order to have this equipment ready for October lot op+e~ing would <br />like to request Council suspend the rules and pass resolution tonight; <br />2) City has a waiting list for people wanting soil conditioner -- sludge -from <br />Treatsaent Plant, Have been fortunate in delivering all of the conditicnaer through- <br />out this winter and although have 40 - 50 yards on hand now it is because tae are <br />not able to get off the road with the delivery truck. Anyone wanting delivery of <br />it should call City Rail for a truckload of 4 - 5 yards. It is goad fertiliser; <br />3) Wood chips have been available behind the Casaaunity Cabin at the Park nand <br />citizen demand for tham has kept up with the supply and are hauled aaray as fast <br />as they can be stt>ckpiled. Anyone wanting a full load should call City Ball and <br />it will be deliwared - it has to be a full load; <br />4) in approximately taro weeks will have composted leaves available at the site on <br />Bradley Rd. These are coming along in good shape and will move them to a spot <br />near the road where people can pick them up and take as much as they amtnt. Interest- <br />ing to note that the residents are recognizing the value of these three itMls~- at <br />one time the City had to pay to dispose of them and now there is s dtnci ft~a~ lthmm. <br />Mr. Wilamosky ascertained from Mayor Christman that the leaves will note delivered. <br />City Engineer J. Howard Childs reported following; 1) Environmental. protection <br />Agency has recently reviewed and approved the plans for sanitary sewers and water <br />mains in our Brendan Woods Subdivision -going to be starting soon. `Ihe j~tocesses <br />that were reviewed - the E.P.A. did not quest~.on or in any way challenge aaty aspect <br />of that design. This means then that the City's specifications for these irove- <br />ments which is what set the standard for the design do meet in every respect the <br />E.P.A. requirements; <br />2) Report on current status of sanitary sewer repair program: In middle of February <br />we entered into a contract with Edward Smith Construction Co. to repair 25 bramks <br />on sanitary sewers on Vincent Dr. and Sudbury Dr. and ail of those repairs have <br />now been completed. The only work r~a.ining on that contract is the so-called <br />cleanup work of grading the disturbed areas; establishing final grade and repair- <br />ing sidewalks that had to be removed and replacing sod where required. Mr. Childs <br />explained when that facet of the fob will be finished. In the meantimie, have <br />inspected all of the repairs that were made to the sewers using t.v. equipment and <br />all of the work has been good quality. Mre. Saringer referred to ~gclcs made on <br />sidewalks on West X30 off Alexander and inquired if some sewer work is anticipated <br />on that street.
