Haaard Childs, <br />Clerk of Council Fora Hill. <br />Absent: President of Council Lia~ert. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Pro Tem Beringer at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mr. Wilas[y the minutes of April 20, 1476, Page 9, Paragraph 2, by <br />deleting ~ +rord "Ford". Minutes were approved as as~ded. <br />Mayor Christmas reported: 1) First Quarterly report of the Renersation CAaplax <br />is out and Canmcil will be receiving copy of ease. The Mayor west over briefly <br />items in the report; <br />2) Res. Tio. 76-~4-1 on agenda tonight to Governor Rhodes urging that Cetyahoga County <br />be named ae the State Office on Aging for this area. <br />City Engineer Childs reported: 1) regarding new Zoning Map -the Msp that is on <br />display in Council Chsrbers is updated and has oa it all corrections and coning <br />changes that have been approved 'by Council so that is the final version of the <br />new Zoning Map; <br />2) status regarding program to repair sole of the leaks in the sanitary e~sr <br />maintenance of the City: have finished reviewing data obtained from the continuing <br />program to televisethese sewers and have selected the 41 worst breaks that remain <br />in the northeast section of the City and there is money in the budget this year <br />to pay for the contract of repair. Accordingly, have wzitten a contract to <br />cover that xepair and it is in the work of doing the necessary typing sad putting <br />together the contract booklets and that work will be completed by the time we <br />have legislation authorising the advertising for bids. Thinks with the re~-air <br />of these 41 breaks will have fixed all of the really ma~ar breaks in the northeast <br />section of tbs City. Mr. Childs commented on any additional flooding that may <br />be experienced will be due to. <br />Law Director Gateau reported: 1) the Code is in its final complete stags - <br />have prepared some 20 pages that have been substituted sad they are noW in <br />the Clerk's Office. When more data is received on notification it can be placed <br />back on readit~; <br />2) the Lar Department in cooperation with the University of Akron will assist <br />one law stunt this Sewer by permitting him to speed some time with the City <br />Prosecutor as a trainee. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Streets ~ Drainage Ca-mmittee, reported Cosr~ittea stet on <br />April 24, 1976, sad discussed the Glendet~ing ditch and at that tics it was <br />agreed to have the Clerk seed a letter to Mr. Gleadenaissg and ~tify his that <br />we would assist the owner is negotiating for the purchase of the property. After <br />the land has been purchased the City will negotiate wit~#t the homeoa$er as the <br />cost of re3.ocatiag the ditch; <br />2) also vn 2-24-76 Council as a ~-ole set to set up grow rules for the Assessment <br />Equalization Board for the sidexalk repair program.
