• <br />~'~~.E_, <br />MIPNTES OF T~?E MEETT!!G OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY "OF ISORTtt -4ii~T <br />JUNE 21, 1977 <br />Present: President Dewey Lampert, Council~een Boehmer, Pairfield~ Sa~cinger, Sharpe, <br />West, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christman, Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance Director <br />William Gerlach, Safety Daractor Richard Roharik, Service Director Henry <br />Caster, City Engineer J. Howard Childs, Clerk of Council Mora Hiii. <br />Absent: Councilman Beaty. <br />Meeting was called to order by President Lampert at 8:00 P.M. <br />President Lampert stated the first portion of this meeting is a Pxoposed Use <br />Hearing on Federal Revenue Shsrimg Funds for year 1978 and asked for any com-ents. <br />Mr. Wilamosky discussed with finance Director Gerlach soate of the figures. There <br />being no other comments President Lieapert declared that portion of meeting adjourned <br />and proceeded into Council meeting. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of June 8, 1977, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman reported: 1) the culvert replacement under Porter Rd. was not an <br />eligible expenditure under the third year block grant but those funds have been <br />added onto Beech Lane culvert until they can be later reassigned for some project <br />that had been approved. <br />Finance Director Gerlach reported: 1) the Rec Center Nate which was Three Million <br />Four Hundred Sixty-Three Dollars was rolled over at an interest cost of 3.9X - <br />that is down from 4.61X last year. This will save about $20,000 interest an the <br />note over the next year; <br />2) the Service Department eQuipment note of $332,000. was sold at an interest rate <br />of 4.0X. <br />Safety Director Koharik reported: 1) our summer recreation program as in progress <br />with over 2000 children and young adults participating; <br />2) the resurfacing of the tennis courts at Clague Park will be finished by Wednesday <br />of next week; <br />3) like many other cities we are plagued with the high cost of insurance and one <br />of them is police liability insurance. Will be opening bids for this insurance <br />next Monday and have a strong indication that the cast of this insurance will b~ <br />three times greater than last year's premium. Last year it was approxiaately $3,000. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported Committee meeting <br />was held on June 14, 1977. Besides Committee Members, Mr. Weldon, Mr. Guilds and <br />Mr. Lampert were in attendance: 1) Mr. Weldon stated that the road reat~rfacing <br />program would get under way Monday. There will be no drainage or berm repair on <br />Clifford Drive at this time; <br />2) Mrs. Saringer had asked Mr. Caster for a report on the condition of file pavement <br />on Stoneybrook: did not have the report for the committee meeting, however, have <br />received ane since, Mr. Childs has prepared an estimate of coats for ca~lete <br />teax-out and repair. Mrs. Saringer is sure the residents would not be acceptable <br />to the fact of a complete tear-out and repair and be assessed far it: after all <br />it is not their fault that the City allowed the road to be constructed in such s <br />manner.
