~E:t,ck <br /> <br />MII1UT85 OF T8E MEETING OF THB C4URCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />APRIL 19, 1977 <br />Present: President Dewey H. Limpert, Councilmen Beaty, Boehmer, Fairfield, <br />Saringer, West, Wilamosky. <br />Also present: Mayor Ralph Christman, Law Director Michael Gateau, Finance Director <br />William Gerlach, Safety Director Richard Roharik, Service Director Henry <br />Caster, City Engineer J. Howard Childs, Clerk of Council Nora Hill. <br />Absent: Councilman Sharpe <br />Meeting was called to order by President Limpert at 8:00 P.M. <br />Minutes of Special Council Meeting of March 29, 1977, were approved as read; <br />Minutes of Cotmcil Meeting of April S, 1977, were approved as read; <br />Minutes of Special Council Meeting of April 7, 1977, were approved as read. <br />Mayor Christman introduced Mr. Richard Kaharik, Safety Director. <br />Mayor Christman reported: 1) on March 23rd wrote to Congressman Mattl requesting <br />assistance in eliminating the delay in the construction of I-480. Am glassed to <br />be able to announce that Mr. Mottl has responded to that letter in a most accommoda- <br />ting manner and is causing some things to move through the Federal Departments so <br />that the Mayor thinks it will have our construction on its original target date; <br />2) on Saturday, May 14th, from 9:00 A.M. to Noon, Members of the Coua-ty A~utitor's <br />Homestead Exemption Department will be at City Hall to explain the Homestead Act <br />to senior citizens; <br />3) received letter of resignation from Mr. Nick Del Giudice from the Landmarks <br />Commission; <br />4) would like to recommend for Council approval the appointment of Mz. William <br />Prati to the Board of Zoning Appeals, term expiring 12/31/77. Council is in <br />receipt of Mr. Prati's resume; <br />5) have presented to the Finance Committee of Council a contract with George T. <br />Saxton Associates, Inc., as the computer services company to handle our sewex <br />billing; and after their review Mayor understands it takes a motion of Council <br />to approve same and enter into a contract; <br />6) at the request of the Homeowners Association in the Westview/Mitchell area <br />would like a motion of Council approving the installation of a No Right Turn On <br />Red sign at Great Northern Boulevard and Lorain Raad, the northbound lane. Would <br />like to suggest that this be for a one month trial period. This is the area that <br />Mr. Jahn Maloney, President of that Association, requested help on getting out of <br />their street. <br />Service Director Caster reported: 1) on April 15th took bids on vaxious Service <br />Department equipment. Received 63 bids for the various pieces and are in process <br />of tabulating - have not gotten to the point of evaluating the bids yet. Hope to <br />do that within the neat few days; <br />2) presented a report to the Streets & Drainage Committee which they had requested <br />a few Council Meetings ago; <br />3) is requesting legislation advextisiag for bids for the repair program far <br />the sanitary system within the money that is appropriated in the 1977 Sewer Revenue <br />Fund. <br />
